Sadly the 2 games mid-week has worn Spider pitching thin. ODU pushed a run across and then regained the lead 9-7 after a 3 run HR from ODU’s Maverick Stallings. To the top of the 8th we go.

Monarchs edge the Spiders 10-9 in 10 innings with a walk off single after a HBP and sac bunt with throwing error get runners on base. Spiders got 2 outs but a wild pitch had the runners at second and third for the game winning single. Showed lots of grit coming back to force extra innings. Reset for the weekend and be ready for the Dayton Flyers.

Bob Black said it was 82 degrees, looks like a nice breeze too to keep things comfortable. I remember very well these kinds of Fridays. Classes until 11:30, lunch at the Refectory, then over to the Pika house, hop in the Vega for a quick trip to the 7-Eleven at Libbie or Ridge Road for a sixer of National Boh, then back on the back porch of the Pika house for the rest of the afternoon.
Man, sometimes I really miss college.

Spiders give up a one-out double in the 8th, but instead of just playing it out, they decide to give an intentional walk to set up a potential double play, and it backfires. Two HBPs, a single, and a sac fly give the Flyers three more runs before the Spiders can get out of it...10–2.
