Rams actually pushed a second run across and lead 2-1 after 5.

Rams up 3-1 and again a double and a bunt single and another bunt produce the run. Our theme is runners left on base and struck out looking.

Top of the 8th and we finally get it going. Grant Kennedy with a single up the middle and RJ Johnson Jr. with a 2 run blast to tie this one 3-3!

We head to the B8 with the lead 4-3. After a walk to RJ Rickabaugh, a single by Evan Wilson then a single by Dylan Winebrenner scores our pinch runner Reid Downs. Winebrenner comes through again in the clutch.

Fordham has a pretty unique setup for baseball, they are pressed for open land there.

Game 3 of the series at Fordham has Jackson Hinchliffe on the mound for the Spiders. Fordham scores 1 in the first inning. Spiders answer in the second to tie on an RBI from Ryan Recio. Rams take the lead in the forth on a single with a runner on second who comes home after a fielding error by the Spiders. 2-1 Rams after 4 innings.

Spiders have taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the 5th on a 2 run homer by Dylan Winebrenner.

After a HBP in the bottom of the 5th Dom Ruggiero comes in from the pen to shut Fordham down. In the 6th Aaron Van Tuyle comes on with 2 out and runners on to shut the Rams down. Spiders still up heading to the 7th!

In the bottom of the 8th the Rams use a walk and HBP and try to bunt them up but Spiders get the put out at 3rd. Spiders go to the pen again in Justin Gay who is able to get 2 ground outs. We head to the 9th holding on to the 3-2 lead.

Heartbreak in the late innings again. A runner gets on a fly out and the runner takes second. We “intentionally walk” to set up the double play and then a HBP to load the bases. A Fordham single plates 2 and game over …. Rams 4-3.

There were 2 outs as well when we had the HBP after getting the second out on another fly out. Some tough losses this season.

I am interested in others thoughts, in this situation we were in bottom of the 9th , 1 out man on second clinging to the 3-2 lead … do you intentionally walk like we did or play it out ?

The intentional walk was the winning run. I say pitch to the guy. Don't put the winning run on base, make them earn it.
The HBP was lame, looked like the guy leaned into it and it just brushed his jersey.
Bad pitch on the 1-2. You let an overmatched player beat you by leaving it on the outside half so he could punch it into right field.
