2026 Football Schedule

Looks like a daunting road schedule.
Furman, I think is H/H and them added to the away the next year will not make it any easier for 2027.

Furman played 2024 and 2025 with more young players than Spiders did. I am suspecting they are not SOCN bottom feeders the next two years now that all those players will be JRs and Seniors the two years the Spiders get them.

That is quite the gauntlet.

Surely we learned our lesson in 2019 and will fly to NY? 🤞
We are flying to Holy Cross for sure via Hartford or Boston but I can’t believe Hardt will open the coffers to take a second flight to Westchester or LGA for Fordham.

The Tribe will also have some very long bus rides as well given it’s the southernmost Patriot football school.

We were initially going to host Norfolk State and now we travel to Howard.Woild have had 7 home games but now 6 home,6 away;5 Patriot home,4 Patriot away.Ironically,in 2027 we will play 5 home games and 7 away games including an away game at Norfolk State.

I had to laugh...main athletics account tagging our football account that's been in the penalty box for a month now. Guess they haven't given up and started yet another new one yet. There was also the Richmond Recruiting account on X that hasn't posted in a year and a half...I guess whoever was running that one left?

Patriot League (10 Teams)

Oh, how the PL has the potential to be a regular multiple-bid league in the playoffs. Lehigh is a two-time defending champion, having beaten Richmond in the 2024 playoffs just before the Spiders moved into the league, then falling to Villanova in the 2025 playoffs before the Wildcats come aboard with William & Mary. Lehigh, which had an unbeaten regular season, will still boast RB Luke Yoder, the PL offensive player of the year, veteran QB Hayden Johnson and a strong secondary. Villanova will pound the run with Ja’briel Mace and Isaiah Ragland, and also stop it with six experienced defensive linemen returning. The Wildcats’ season opener is against – drum roll, please – William & Mary, which will be strong in the trenches, but needs to fill out the offensive skills position. Lafayette, after surprising with a 6-1 league record, has been hurt by the transfer portal, but a new QB will have plenty of passing options. Every Richmond result in its 3-4 PL debut was decided by seven or fewer points. The Spiders will return a solid nucleus, including QB Ashten Snelsire and LB Carter Glassmyer.

Overlooked Holy Cross, the PL perennial power, and reloading with a vengeance after an uncharacteristic subpar season.

Sound league with the three additions. Some stinkers, but several programs that are serious about FCS football. Lets get it on in 2026!

I'm Go Lehigh TU Owl from AGS so I come in peace....

Holy Cross was a perennial power when they had Bob Chesney who was a transcendent coach. From 1992 through 2019 Crusader Football pretty much existed in the wilderness. Colgate and Lehigh have historically been the top two programs in the PL.

I think there's a better chance this is Dan Curran's last season on Mount St. James than Holy Cross returns to prominence within the league and/or nationally.

Colgate is the team imo that is poised to take a big jump. Like Lehigh, their program suffered turmoil (Dan Hunt was forced to resign) at the worst time (around Covid) which set the proud Raider Football back. However, they got a helluva coach who did an excellent job with roster retention. I have them #3 in the pecking order heading into 2026....

This is helpful. Thanks! I liked the way Colgate played. Thought they had some good play calling.
