how weird to be playing Bisons two weeks in a row...these Bison are from a Pennsylvania herd that's looking to stampede over the Spiders, if we're not at our best!
Bucknell was 6-6, 4-2 Patriot League last season...they were the only PL team to defeat Lehigh...they defeated the Engineers 38-35 on the road in double OT!...the preseason PL poll picked the Bison to finish 4th in the PL!
they bring back outstanding All American candidate QB Ralph Rucker IV... he was voted preseason Offensive Player of the Year in the PL poll...by game six our young and less experienced defensive backfield should be well up the learning curve...it's likely they'll need to be as with Rucker at the helm the Bison can once again be expected to lead the PL in passing yards per game and total yards per game as they did in 2024...he threw for over 2800 yards and 25 TDs in 2024...
I'd like to think the Spiders will be favored over the Bison in this one, but I'm not sure...I am sure this road game is the type we'll have to win if we expect to battle for a PL Championship...Richmond has been outstanding on the road since the 2022 season versus FCS squads...I expect we'll need to be at our best to come out of this Bison stampede!
