2025–26 Spider men's basketball schedule

And there it is... 🤢

"We're excited about our non-conference schedule and having the opportunity to play before our fans, friends, and families at the Robins Center nine times during the non-conference season," said Spiders coach Chris Mooney. "Defending our home court and facing some very accomplished programs on the road will help prepare us for the rigors of our Atlantic 10 season."

Did ECU and WM change dates?

Ok thanks, for some reason I thought first post had dates for all except So VA 2 days ago…
Nope, Southern Virginia (was known to be season opener, but not exact date), ECU, W&M, and Citadel dates were all unknown until now as far as I had seen.

man how far things have fallen. our best home game (and 2nd best overall?) is freaking JMU ... and it doesn't even count.

Laughably bad. Compare this with just 6 years ago in '19-'20...."Richmond will play a minimum of nine games on national television and face at least five opponents who competed in last year's NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. During their non-conference schedule, the Spiders could face as many as five teams from major conferences, which would be the most by the program since 2015-16."

Now, it's "Wow! Look how many games we have at home against in-state rivals! Don't forget some accomplished mid-major programs on the road!"

Ironic how continue to whine about how hard it is to play top teams while all the other competitive programs in the A10 are able to get multiple opportunities to do so. Can't stand the level of complacency we're seeing here.

things could be worse. imagine if we chose this IN-CONFERENCE schedule.
And their OOC schedule is pretty crappy too. Yale might be the best team on it, and that depends on the outcomes of the first games in St. Thomas. Florida State in Sunrise and BC in Springfield are okay but nothing to really write home about, Charleston probably decent but their NET takes a hit in the CAA. Same deal with Harvard, being a step behind Yale. Everything else is 200+ NET.

Well, I had to look up Southern Virginia. It’s the old Southern Seminary girls school in Buena Vista.
Probably had to look under a lotta rocks to find this one to schedule.
