Jackson, I agree. It’s an embarrassment to our historic, now flagship program. It shows no respect for the program and its long time loyal fans. With this inept and sad schedule (I blame CM) to have any prayer of a at-large bid UR would have to go 11-1 or better in OOC. D3 game doesn't count with NET, Torvik or Kenpom, let alone the selection committee.
15-3 or better in A10 reg. season and 2-1 in A10T (must make it to Sunday)
Total 28-5
* Even then, with no quality wins, its no guarentee the selection committee takes UR. They obviously are skewed towards P5 teams and are corrupt. Look at UNC situation last March.
* Its A10T champs or bust.
* UR will be improved, but I doubt they'll even make NIT. CM pads the schedule to get more wins, and extends his contract.
* Shaking my head
Thanks SF, this non conference schedule is an insult to our program, players and fans, particularly the home portion of it.So based on last year's NETs, here is the quad breakdown:
Q2
128. at Belmont
Q3
114. vs Illinois State (depending on MTE matchups)
124. vs Furman (depending on MTE matchups)
191. at Elon
Q4
176. ECU
190. Southern Illinois
218. W&M
269. Gardner–Webb
270. vs Charlotte (depending on MTE matchups)
293. ODU
294. VMI
296. Charleston Southern
361. The Citadel
Non-DI
Southern Virginia
Unbelievable. Heavily loaded with Q4 Teams. And much of what we are paying for season tickets is for that. I’ll probably get my tics again, but Hardt / Mooney should feel embarrassed by that OOC schedule. So based on last year's NETs, here is the quad breakdown:

The board may be the best part of the season!![]()
Kinda feel like I should just shut the board down...sorry, guys. It was good while it lasted.
Absolutely. Keeping it real. The board may be the best part of the season!
Agree to an extent, but still the excuse mongering in Mooney's interviews is sickening. Gardner Webb seemed to figure it out?Best way to not get schedules like this is to win out and prove that playing us isn’t a lose-lose for good opponents.
and so did VMI!Agree to an extent, but still the excuse mongering in Mooney's interviews is sickening. Gardner Webb seemed to figure it out?
Before it was that the Spiders were too good. Now it is that the Spiders aren't good enough. Will there ever be a just right?Best way to not get schedules like this is to win out and prove that playing us isn’t a lose-lose for good opponents.
Completely agree and as it is season ticket renewal time, if you get a chance to talk with our ticket office, I would relay that exact message. I personally am undecided as to whether I am going to renew. It pains me, but the OOC schedule proves yet once again, the care our leaders put into our flagship program is completely unacceptable. This OOC schedule is intentional and reflects a lack of effort and vision for our program.Jackson, I agree. It’s an embarrassment to our historic, now flagship program. Go Spiders!
Sort of feel bad for the frontline ticket office people because they are definitely going to hear plenty of complaints. I am holding off on renewing as well and it will likely be an 11th hour decision in September.Completely agree and as it is season ticket renewal time, if you get a chance to talk with our ticket office, I would relay that exact message. Yeah, it's not their fault. But if they get a bunch of people complaining about the schedule, that will flow uphill to the powers that be.Sort of feel bad for the frontline ticket office people because they are definitely going to hear plenty of complaints. 1) not sure ticket guys provide uphill feedback and 2) really don’t think powers that be care if handful of ticket holders speak the obvious.Yeah, it's not their fault. But if they get a bunch of people complaining about the schedule, that will flow uphill to the powers that be.
First, thank you for setting up this new forum. If you build it, they will come...Recapping what we've learned so far about the schedule. By my count as of July 31, we have all 13 non-conference games accounted for.

Running a business, I'd be pretty pissed in my customers were complaining about something and my frontline people didn't report that. You are most likely right though that the powers that be probably just don't give a sh*t.1) not sure ticket guys provide uphill feedback and 2) really don’t think powers that be care if handful of ticket holders speak the obvious.
Sorry 23, you're missing the point entirely.Welcome back LI. I am actually liking the new NIL era so far. Yes the $'s are crazy. But the key like any changes if to have a coach and program that can adapt. Mooney appears to be a bit behind the times so far. Last season the portal grab was a lot of ill fitting pieces and last minute hail mary's. Best shooting team ever couldn't shoot with actual defense in front of them. This year, the haul is a lot more college proven guys - so that seems hopeful - thought the defense is suspect. If Robinson, McGlothin, and lets say Argabright are all big contributors this year - then maybe Mooney's long game starts to get some credibility. And they all need to stay for that concept to be proven out. Overall, the NIL money is keeping good players in college longer for the most part, so I think the talent level is very good.
