Jackson, I agree. It’s an embarrassment to our historic, now flagship program. It shows no respect for the program and its long time loyal fans.

Thanks SF, this non conference schedule is an insult to our program, players and fans, particularly the home portion of it.
How are you going to rebuild your flagship program with a schedule like this. It’s hard to see how game changing Portal or high school recruits wouldn’t look at this and say what’s wrong at Richmond!

Unbelievable. Heavily loaded with Q4 Teams. And much of what we are paying for season tickets is for that. I’ll probably get my tics again, but Hardt / Mooney should feel embarrassed by that OOC schedule.
The board may be the best part of the season!

Agree to an extent, but still the excuse mongering in Mooney's interviews is sickening. Gardner Webb seemed to figure it out?

Completely agree and as it is season ticket renewal time, if you get a chance to talk with our ticket office, I would relay that exact message. I personally am undecided as to whether I am going to renew. It pains me, but the OOC schedule proves yet once again, the care our leaders put into our flagship program is completely unacceptable. This OOC schedule is intentional and reflects a lack of effort and vision for our program.
Sort of feel bad for the frontline ticket office people because they are definitely going to hear plenty of complaints. I am holding off on renewing as well and it will likely be an 11th hour decision in September.

If at first you don’t succeed, try something different!
How about taking a page from the Cavs and Odom. Schedule an exhibition game versus a respectable P6 program at the Robins Center.
Like the Cavs make it free for the loyal season ticket holders as an apology for this Q4 dominated non conference home schedule.
We’ve played plenty of “closed” exhibitions against teams like Tech. Make it open and reward your best fans.

Yeah, it's not their fault. But if they get a bunch of people complaining about the schedule, that will flow uphill to the powers that be.
1) not sure ticket guys provide uphill feedback and 2) really don’t think powers that be care if handful of ticket holders speak the obvious.

Second, this schedule is trash. Couple that with NIL and terrible transfer portal rules, it's hard to get excited about college basketball.
I went from watching every spiders basketball game for a decade to barely watching any last season.
Still sad this once great game was ruined.

Welcome back LI. I am actually liking the new NIL era so far. Yes the $'s are crazy. But the key like any changes if to have a coach and program that can adapt. Mooney appears to be a bit behind the times so far. Last season the portal grab was a lot of ill fitting pieces and last minute hail mary's. Best shooting team ever couldn't shoot with actual defense in front of them. This year, the haul is a lot more college proven guys - so that seems hopeful - thought the defense is suspect. If Robinson, McGlothin, and lets say Argabright are all big contributors this year - then maybe Mooney's long game starts to get some credibility. And they all need to stay for that concept to be proven out. Overall, the NIL money is keeping good players in college longer for the most part, so I think the talent level is very good.

Running a business, I'd be pretty pissed in my customers were complaining about something and my frontline people didn't report that. You are most likely right though that the powers that be probably just don't give a sh*t.
