Don’t see Mooney deciding to retire this year. If I want to put on the wishful thinking cap, it would be that he retires after next season because he heard great things from Schmidt after his retirement this year.
That is as good a prediction as any others.Danny graduates in two years and Mooney will retire then to follow his college career.
RIght, he doesn't seem to have this awareness, I agree. More likely he is reading the message boards, and he just blurted it out to JOC to try to make the speculation stop so he can just get to May. As Rothstein says" We Sleep in May". Hardt can't wait for the sleepy period when Spider hoops is forgotten for several months.Do we really think Hardt has the awareness or craftiness to play this game of 3d chess being suggested here?
Prove me wrong John.

Good stuff. You mean lil of VT on the lil ol Richmond message board had some influence on the Richmond airways??Jack Fitzpatrick and his producer on ESPN Richmond this morning pretty much laid it all out there and said Mooney should be let go. Seemed like Fitz pulled the Q1/2 and Q3/4 stats from VT's thread here and read through them on air. Nice to hear the narrative change publicly to reflect the reality of our situation. Hopefully they don't get in trouble with Hardt and Queally for speaking the truth!

Wow. The local and even A-10 media around Mooney seems devoid of any critique. Nice to see when they are actually provided with some data, it is damning.Jack Fitzpatrick and his producer on ESPN Richmond this morning pretty much laid it all out there and said Mooney should be let go. Yeah, he isn't walking away from the Mooney. Unlike Bennett, who has a legacy to maintain, Mooney does not and again if someone is paying you 1.5 million dollars, you probably aren't walking away from it either.Mooney is too young to retire, but he has had health issues that perhaps make it more realistic. I still think there is a 0% chance Mooney is retiring
Was thinking he could use health as a reason to "retire".Mooney is too young to retire, but he has had health issues that perhaps make it more realistic. I still think there is a 0% chance Mooney is retiring
It's somewhat notable to me that Mooney's name made it on this list, though. This is the first time I can remember any national media hinting at him being under scrutiny since the back to back down years in '17/'18 and '18/'19.We're lumped in with the "low and mid-major" jobs...
