I'm not saying I don't want transfers, but interesting results from last year for teams that heavily dipped into portal
Isn’t the issue though that the Spiders have a small incoming freshman class? Plus older typically means bigger and stronger which is obviously a key factor in football.

100%. We should not be adding just 2 or 3 guys. But I'm glad we aren't trying to get 10+ annually, would be a nightmare
If we're losing 10+ annually, we have to backfill. Hard to wait until spring to land high schoolers if waiting to see what our needs are, but also tough to sign a larger frosh class early and bank on departures. So the portal it is. Except we don't seem to be doing that either, at least no visible signs of it.

Played both in HS, at Collegiate. Ranked at both positions, staff may have offered opportunity to try each and then decide.
