So Sick of Huesman!!!

I hope the coaches aren’t worried about interceptions. Keep him feeling loose to make quick decisions without getting screamed at if there’s an int. I’d take an interception if we’re scoring touchdowns.
This is an excellent point. It's hard to tell what is going on behind the scenes. I would rather he throw more and connect more and run less.

The game dictates whether you run or throw or do both equally. When you run for 300+ yds you really don't need to throw but because you're running effectively the play action pass becomes very effective. One dimensional football is easier to defend. VMI couldn't run and in the second half we shut down the pass because we weren't too worried about the run. The objective is to win the game. I really don't care how or how pretty or ugly, just win.

We have an even greater weakness, we have no passing game. The Spiders are too heavily run oriented. Wickersham doesn't have the field vision, mobility or timing to be an effective passer..

And Huesman doesn't want to develop a passing game..I was shocked we dominated the time of possession against Carolina.

The questions are whether any PL defense can stop our run game and can we make the playoffs with a 10-2 record.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we perform against a 3-1 Howard team on Saturday. Obviously VMI was overmatched but it was nice to get our RB's and OL rolling in the ground game. The Keydets do throw the ball a ton so it was also good to see our DL control the game and continually collapse the pocket which helped out our inexperienced secondary. It's not going to be pretty at times but you are seeing the formula for success for this team. Is there a ceiling to this style of play..absolutely...but I'm curious to see how much we improve as our remaining schedule is certainly manageable.

Howard strength is running and our front 7 is our strength. We control the ground game, we should be OK. Wickersham needs to run less and make better decisions on the counter. Once he did not hand to King who had a huge hole and kept himself grinding two yards up the middle.

"That tells me he is still holding the ball too long."

Maybe - the O-line is either not performing as needed OR they have not come together as a unit?
