New Strategy

Hard to think that AP could shoot significantly worse than his 25% from 3 of last season, or shoot worse from 3 than B. Artis last year, who hovered around the low 20s all year, but he is! 20.4% on the year.

Moon is using him out of necessity only at this point it seems. Tyne and AP combined for 9 minutes. The local PG on vcu just abused Tyne a couple times for bully ball layups and then we didn't see him again. They continue to shoot right over our guards.

Robinson's offensive moves (the one post move in particular) and offensive rebounding were both impressive last night - his bulk and hops showed his potential. His defense and fouling, were issues of course. But I'd still play him for all 5 fouls every game over AP, no doubt about it. I'd start him with AA, let Daughtry play 15m in reserve as a sub. JD unfortunately may be the worst defender of the Moon era.

I’d start AA Robinson & Harper
AA couldn't get shots up most of the night against VCU guards and got bullied by them inside defensively.
Robinson fouled out in 9 minutes.
Harper had his only shot blocked.

I get the frustration but this isn't the answer either.

Time for a reset

I’m not at all interested in punting on the season, but I don’t see us securing a top4 seed and even the, put our chances real low of winning the A10 tourney.

So I’m all for giving time to guys who A) are gonna be here next year or B) we desperately want to be here next year.

The best thing about Men’s basketball is this Forum. It almost went extinct thanks to ON3, but @SFspidur came to the rescue. At some point, our lead admin will be asking for some monetary support and I hope everyone will contribute as everything is currently on SF’s dime.

In regards to who plays etc, I have lost interest as I see no way out of this wasteland called MooneyBall. The only winner is Mooney’s agent (and by proxy Mooney) who has convinced UR to pay top dollar for bottom A10 tier results. The one man show needs to retire and let someone with a plan and a vision take a turn. This year is the best that Mooney can do in today’s environment and will be repeated until the end.

the answer is snag one small guard who is special. KA0, AA, Gilly. Don't also decide that it's so good of an idea that your entire backcourt can be 4 undersized guards.

With Beagle out and AP out of the rotation, we have barely any size. Other than the 5, we are undersized at every position compared with many / most teams. At least Robinson brings bulk and top level athleticism, but he's been playing the 5, and not the 4 alongside a guy like Walz.

We are 4th...from the bottom, staring up at Lasalle and Duquesne. 1-5 in last 6, 3-7 in last 10 going back to the last game of the OOC. There is zero shot of top 4, decent chance for playing Weds March 11 on the A10 pillow fight day.

Oh, and that GW juggernaut who murdered us twice? 2-4 vs the rest of the league so far.

02/28 @Loyola penciled in for me. Gonna be a moment of truth game for sure. Must win game on the road should be fun.

Yes, thanks to SF and getting everyone back on (the) board, we have a strong message board game going. Misery loves company, and I find it joyful that others see the same shortcomings and wonder WTF. But the beat goes on. I'm glad to pitch in for any costs needed so SF doesn't have to keep absorbing.

Thanks, guys. Some personal issues over the past few months have bumped the contributor piece of this site down my to-do list, but I hope to have something up fairly soon to allow people to easily contribute a relatively small amount and also get some recognition here if they wish. Really happy to see us pretty much get back to where we were with the Rivals version...just sucks that On3 torpedoed our entire history in their acquisition.
