There’s more…

U took some umbrage with #1 remarkably but I still find very valid…

1. times Moon has finished above the A10 media poll prediction? 5

2. A10 tournament record? Idk it but it stinks & that’s with often getting an early round win over a crappier team.

3. Number of A10 semifinals appearances? 5

Kind of goes with #2 but the dean of a10 coaches in 20 years just made 5 semis.

Thanks - will add #3.

No umbrage to #1, but it's not Moon's record, it's the record of those idiots doing predictions. If I pick UR 1st every year, he's 1-20 vs my spread. But my spread is not valid bc I'm a homer. A10 media has proven itself to be worthless - listen to broadcasts, they know nothing about Moon's real numbers. Anyone following the man's career would plant him 7 or 8 almost every single year.

if anyone can find where Moon's winning % ranks amongst all A10 coaches in history, please lmk. Basketball reference only shows overall winning % where Moon's .549 ranks 43rd all time amongst coaches in the A10.

Happens often & he falls below it
I'm obviously no defender of the man. But that stat just shows how bad the media is at doing any research on his true record. Thus these hard numbers. Maybe someone will start mentioning the real numbers that matter - winning %, not total wins. Wins vs losses against VCU. The miniscule % of years he has an NCAA appearance, etc.

We agree there r more important metrics. I like it myself because polls & predictions do drive visibility in sports like it or not. We have to look sometimes at external expectations bc we don’t set any ourselves except “compete” & we don’t do that hardly at all. Lack of top 4 a10 tells us that.

Unfortunately media will never print or speak these. Their job is to give positive slant, and they make Moon out to be something he’s not.
