Jaden Daughtry - Transfer Commit - 2 years of Eligibility

Expect Daughtry to end up being a starter as I don’t see Mooney playing Beagle and Walz together. Haven’t looked for any video clips and probably won’t as it seems to me it all comes down to how well a player can adjust to Mooney ball because there aren’t going to be adjustments based on individual strengths.

The most successful seasons in recent memory feature a 4 who can hang in the post on both ends of the floor and help mitigate our inherent rebounding problems (Cayo, Bigelow, Allen/Taylor). I don’t see it with Roumoglou but this guy could really help if the game translates. I feel like the offense badly needs a guy that you can throw it to in the post when shots aren’t falling just to settle things down and add a different element.

I too have known this for a month or so but didn’t feel it would be right to comment. Wishing him the best as he and staff go through the process. He would be a good and needed addition to our lineup. Fingers crossed.

Wishing him the best. Hopefully he is cleared and this ends up being OK. Scary thing. I remember hearing about Bronny, was lucky the USC staff reacted so quickly.

First and foremost, again hoping for the best for Jaden, that this issue does not impact his ability to play hoops, and most importantly does not affect his ability to just live his life. Of course right now hoops is a huge part of that. So really pulling for him that this is just a blip that just requires monitoring.

Secondly, the fact that the report on him from practice does not include actually getting to lay eyes on him vs competition does diminish my excitement just a tad. I did feel that as soon as he was signed he was destined to be starting 4 man, and if cleared still think that is strongly the case.
However, the scuttle on him from the ISU board, and the independent transfer rating guy was that he was not too strong on defense, and that was in part from lack of athleticism. So we will just have to wait and see on that front. I do think he is a guy that will be able to make some 3's. And he looks to have a polished post game. So still a lot to like. But am doubtful on the Mo Alie Cox (if that was indeed the comp :)) comparison as he was a physical beast on the ball court, and the athleticism very obvious in his transition to the NFL.
