Is Hardt an even bigger problem than Mooney?

To us and I think anyone who objectively assesses this program, holding accountable at this point would be firing him. I can’t argue with that. For our admin, I have no idea what “accountable” means. At least, based on speculation, we’re going to heavily fund the program next year so the school is putting their money where their mouth is. They’re just spending it on the wrong thing (NIL instead of buying out Mooney’s contract) in my opinion.

I read somewhere that teams are finding it harder to fire coaches in this NIL era because they would have to a) pay the coach being fired buyout b) the new coach salary c) NIL/schools funded revenue for players..
I hear you and I dont know the complete financials but if they dont see that increasing their NIL funding with Mooney still in charge is a worthless effort, they are clueless people. He may have another decent year where the team wins 20 games and is top 5 in A10 and loses in the semis but what good is that?? 1 NCAA miracle appearance in 14 years and not many others even in the at large discussion, while VCU has made 11 appearances and is in the discussion every year. Thats why our only hope is absolutely no success at all for CM because this admin rewards mediocrity like no other college in the USA.

We won't know how hard it is if we don't do it. If a new hire is just as bad as Mooney I don't think there would be anyone here saying we should have kept Mooney instead.

I agree. Even if Mooney has a good team one year, there’s not much confidence right now that he can sustain it into building a successful program long-term. Even 50% of what VCU has achieved.

My question is, does LAX and Men’s basketball have the same NIL on average per player?
Lacrosse has no NIL and up until like 2-3 years ago was not fully funded at the 12.6 scholarships (which has now changed under the new house settlement). The success we achieved, out of nothing, is credited to the culture coaches Chemotti and Richards have instilled in the program, developing players, bringing the best out of them, and having really good game plans.

We should absolutely be supporting a national championship caliber lacrosse program at our school. Should not be at the expense of our basketball programs but there’s no indication that is the case. We should strive for top level lacrosse AND basketball.
No, it was at the expense of the men’s soccer and swim/dive programs.
