Game thread - @ Fordham - Sunday 1/4 noon ESPN+

The subbing 2 minutes into the game makes no sense to me. The game has had probably 5 possessions total, and the guys are just starting to get a feel for the game. It takes multiple possessions on both sides of the ball to even figure out how the opponent is going to play you that game etc.

Jaden Daughtry from Marist is from Queens. I guess half the arena saw the

It's too bad our Daughtry is not from Queens. At first I was thinking these lyrics were from an LL Cool J song, but actually from Run DMC:

Kings from Queens, from Queens come kings
We're raisin' hell like a class when the lunch bell rings
The king will be praised and hell will be raised
S-S-S-Suckers try to faze him, but D won't be fazed

Hopefully Sec9 can post a selfie with Cool J

It only makes sense because we actually have to get Argabright into the game or the offense looks like crap to start. What would make more sense is just starting argabright
Exactly. Maybe just start our best players to begin with. I'm glad he finally replaced Tanner with Daughtry in the starting line-up. I have no idea why that took so long as Daughtry is such a better player.

I can at least rationalize Aiden being a freshman and it being the PG position that essentially runs the team as to why you didn't start him initially. But Aiden has been finishing tight games for a while now, which means that Mooney trusts him with the game on the line. Aiden has earned the starting spot and Tyne similarly has done nothing to keep it.

Tyne has always in my mind been a great 6th man, change of pace type of player anyway versus a starter on a competing A-10 team.

Just a thought, if opposing teams emphasize starters in their scout (pretty sure they do), then maybe the opposing teams would be less prepared for those coming off the bench. This might allow for greater success for our substitutes. Just a thought because the number of minutes played would be/is likely the same. Honestly, who starts really doesn’t mean much.

Maybe Daughtry’s stamina has increased? He did have health issues earlier…

Could be. I think had more to do with Tanner knowing Mooney's system better and Mooney being more comfortable with him because of that. I think it is a similar issue with Aiden/Tyne. But Mooney has to recognize and reward superior play in games much sooner in my opinion.
I don't disagree with your last statement in general, but typically Mooney has not been hesistant on letting our short point guards play more and more their freshman years. Seems like Aiden is following that pattern.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that the vast majority of successful D1 programs do not manage their starters/bench this way.
