Hmmm, thought it was pretty accurate reporting from the board. Nostradamus23 taking early victory laps on his David Thomas hype. Unfortunately for David, if he regresses to the mean - it means he has to miss a LOT of 3's

Haha, I read the board at the half last night and I told my wife that if I hadn't been watching the game, I would have thought we were down by 20 reading the comments.

Yes, they made some crazy crazy skip passes. I think they may have been able to get away with possibly against much of their weak schedule? One they lobbed so high and slow across the court I almost jumped into the TV screen, luckily Tanner was waiting to grab it when it came down. They did have some just awful, seemingly unforced bad passes.
I liked the interview with the Belmont coach after the game as he was leaving the court. Very complimentary of our team.

Wow, Thomas! I certainly don't expect that kind of shooting, but if he can keep making some 3s consistently, he has the other parts of his game to get a lot of minutes.
So good to see Johnston play like he did. I think we need him to be one of our top scorers if we are gonna have a real good year in the A-10. 33 minutes for him and 30 for Thomas. Tyne will cut into some of these when he comes back, but I think Johnston seems like a guy we want out there a lot. And, with Thomas, u have to ride the hot hand if he shoots like that again.
Lopez finds ways to score. That's what scorers do, and we need his production.
Imressive game for Aiden. He makes an immediate impact when he gets in there.
Guards have the ball in their hands the most and we need our guards to make plays and score. I like that these 4 guys were our double digit scorers.

I was making this point too somewhere in my plethora of posts
. Congrats to Mooney for rebounding and doing some nice work in the portal this off season. If you look at last three portals - has done very well in two out of the three - so nice work.
Booo on the hs recruiting. Though AA is a great get. And I am hopeful on Richardson and Will Harper. Even think Homenick could be a factor with his size. Jrob looks decent, and now who the heck knows about Bryson.
Again, looking across the landscape of college hoops, mid majors are racking up top 150 guys like never before. We still can't seem to figure that out. Although AA looks like such a player to me.
I can’t cite any posts that say that the team is a fraud either. Definitely are some doubters mostly based on history. Then there is the fact that the OOC schedule is horrible, so very tough to gauge how good the team is like you said 17.
All that being said, the team needs to ignore all the outside noise and do exactly what Will mentions - put in the work. One day the players may be fans that can rant and rave, but for now they just have to focus on actually playing the games.
Didn’t notice during the game, but seeing the post game (after going back to the beginning) Mooney wore the casual Spider gear again. What is the world coming to?

I kind of love that chip on the shoulder that Johnston showed. I have not seen anyone call us an outright fraud, but obviously the team is being made aware of the "have not played anyone" narrative and using it for motivation. Just like I hated losing the points, but loved the intention behind AJ getting a tech a minute or two into the game. These are competitive college kids, and I don't mind them feeding off of things if it motivates them.
I kind of came around when I always looked down on Shaka's motivational techniquest (burning the month of February calendar page, etc) but guess what, they always seemed to work. Hopefully the team can carry that into the A10 schedule - as they were picked to finish low in the A10.

What I observed was primarily the second half. I think the ball moved quicker with less dribbling from Tyne.
Tyne's quickness and ball handling was missed, but he does tend to dribble too much. AA, Thomas and Johnston
did an admirable job of getting the ball up court and getting ball moving in the half court.

Definitely were picked to finish really low in the A10 standings and that should be motivating. Can’t see Hardt being able to spin a low ranking as UR meeting the call to strive for conference championships.
Good point Carolina. The first thing I said to my wife while watching the game was that the ball was really moving much quicker this year. Didn’t even occur to me that it may have been moving even faster last night because Tyne was not in the game.
