2026 Portal Prospects

Was keeping an eye on this 7-footer from D2 UVA-Wise due to the possible Gipe connections, but he's heading to Wofford. Maybe this will piss off Cutter Sisk and bring him back our way?
Yeah, I saw that. I know we recruited him out of high school, but I don't think we actually offered?

Noticed this weekend that Utah St had that tall skinny forward who was pretty good who went to USU even tho he was from DC? Exactly the type of player we are always missing, a skilled forward with length. Have imagine we would have liked him out of HS? Like a Sal or AP but w real off skills.

Elamin? He had a final three of Utah State, VCU, and Iowa. Never saw us linked with him even though a bunch of schools were on him. I know Mason and Rhody were involved. Even Radford offered him.

looks like all of Virginia except us offered in case he wanted to stay local.

Judging by the deleted post, I think we are in the market for a 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 next year. Sprinkle in a Point Forward and some 3 and D guys and roster should be all set.

For the non position guys we need some smalls , some bigs, some wings, some forwards.

I saw him playing well down the stretch for them. I thought he was a senior. Looking at bio, he was listed as a senior though shows one year at providence did not play at all due to injury. Surprised they didn't list as a junior this year.

That is two guys that have transferred from Providence in the last few years and been studs at Delaware.

But wait....sman says that CANNOT happen...p5 top 150 to a mid major.....whatt?????? That is two. Plus they punked us for Anna's brother last season....another p5 transfer that fits my profile. But we shouldn't try 17. Why can bottom of the barrel Delaware keep getting these guys????

Obviously they are not getting enough, but they have got 2-4 in the last few years. If we could get those guys instead maybe moon looks quite a bit better. Oh well, we shouldn't try.
Anna's brother went back up to P5 this year and had a nice year for Cal! So UDel. got him, but couldn't keep him. Of course he has been to 3 high schools from grades 9-12 and 4 colleges in 5 years, so he doesn't stick around much. Opposite of Anna really. One high school for 4 years and 4 years and graduated from Penn State before coming to us!.

He is going to be in his mid 20's and have no lasting relationships. But yay, he played hoops at a bunch of random places.

Lopez, Tyne, Walz, were all around 40% from 3 as well. Johnston was close too. Sometimes numbers do lie
Basically all our portal guys are going to have rather large deficiencies. Neskovic, AP, Johnston, etc. all looked a lot better on paper than on the court and several of the guys already mentioned on here for this cycle are going to defend about as well as our team did this year!

I am no Mooney defender, but its tough sledding out there. Hopefully we fixed one challenge with more money, but you still need someone who can recognize who can play at your level and who can't, and who can then convince the one's who can play at this level to actually come (where money will help but can't be the only way we can get guys is to pay the most!). Don't think we have done much on that front!

In with competition we can compete with. The question is - - can he play at our level? Neskovic had numbers like this at a slightly higher level and he was no help.
Neskovic's numbers were from pure volume, he was 5th in the country in usage rate before transferring here. His efficiency was actually really bad.

Agreed. Offensive volume on very bad teams does not a player make!

And the point being we can't be buying guys just because they have offensive numbers. Witness the debacle of last two transfer classes on defense (and they were so great on offense either). Need a coach who can pick 'em out!

our 24-25 team was bad, but only Roche and the centers of the regulars had higher eFG% numbers than Dusan.
at 48.6% he was above Tanner, Hunt, White, Tyne, and AP.
and that was dragged down by a career worse season shooting from 3.

he was 51,5% the year before at Dartmouth and a whopping 58.1% before that.

but yeah, not strong on defense. that wasn't for a lack of effort though.

But what I think hurt us was that his eFG % was about 40th in the A10…
