it sure was a lift for this Spiders' fan to see the offense arrive in time to help the defense convincingly defeat VMI again...Coach Huesman said yesterday it gave everybody in the program a "boost"!
the question this week is can the Richmond offense build on last week's success and continue to improve?...Howard comes off of a big victory of their own over rival Hampton...the Bison defense could be a good test for the budding UR offense...HU has given up less than 10 points in both of its FCS wins!
despite the "boost" from VMI Coach Huesman also acknowledged the Spiders' offense still has a ways to go...a second impressive performance versus Howard would show the progress the squad has been hoping for!
hats off to the Richmond defense just continues to be solid each time out...it now has begun to appear in national FCS Top 10 rankings...combine it with an improving offense and Spiders' fans have reasonable hope that UR can hold its own in the six consecutive Patriot League battles that follow Howard...a lot of us were wondering about that a couple of weeks ago!
