2025 Richmond Spiders Football - Opponents Countdown - Fordham

I hope Men’s Basketball is more entertaining than this football team. Most predictable, boring
football I have watched in years. And you wonder why there are not more attendance?
I thought the same last year, after we beat the crap out of William & Mary 27-0. It was a boring, run first game, but it was a decisive win. It was classic football. Today's win was an ugly win, which we could have easily lost.

Well Russ has a good record and this is by far his most disappointing year in a few. But why did he lose 11 to the portal and have such a low number returning. Did he force October out to make room for Junior? Hardt is a football guy(Iowa) , is he satisfied with our performance. Those 11 guys moving into the Portal was not a sign of a program running smoothly. To my thinking, it showed that everything was not well in Denmark!

I checked on a few of those 11 this afternoon, before I saw your post.

The two WRs that went to JMU are the two leading WR with 700+ yards between them on a 7-1 FBS team and they have 9 of the teams 15 receiving TDs.
ZIPS has run for 400+ for UL-Monroe and is second leading rusher on a run heavy team.
Looks like money well spent by those teams on players who were certainly FBS level players.
Our coaches found and developed them, but Richmond cannot fight them being paid especially after they have a degree in hand.

Stocklinski does not seem to be getting as much time with Hawaii as he would have here but has 9 tackles in 9 games with a sack for a two-yard loss.

All I glanced at to this point.

I glanced at what Spiders have coming back if they choose to return.
Should have 5 or 6 solid WRs returning if they choose too. All the RBs.

I have not checked the defense as closely.

Edit

Mathew Traynor 4 tackles in 7 games for Wisconsin.

#5 Javion griffin got the first td on the first drive and didn't have a target after that all game.... also he wus punt returner last 2 games and he wus pass effective got the longest punt return this year in college football... if he a playmaker how we not get him the ball; him and 10 should be go too I'm not understanding this

Defense played well, especially our DL. When you hold a team to under 100 yards for most of the game and only win by 3 there are other issues that have been discussed on this board.
Found this interesting

One year after this

Check blue hen yardage in each…

Just last year, we spanked the Blue Hens 28-9. Now the chickens are playing in the mighty C-USA. We have near comparable players at WR and RB and in Snelsire, a pretty good QB. The Spiders have fallen apart. This is baffling.

It's been fun to be able to watch games on ESPN+, a huge benefit to Patriot League membership.

When your QB is limited, your offense is limited. Our QB is limited, even more so by a bum leg.

Coleman hasn't played at all at JMU. A wasted year, he would have started this season and probably been in position to transfer to a better place than JMU. No guarantee he'll play next year either, their starter has a year of eligibility left.

It seems we move the football great between the 20s, then we get into the red zone and try to get fancy instead of just lining up and doing what we did to get there in the first place.

Good points, recruiting is above average by Huesman and staff. Utilizing the talent after we get them is lacking. This year it has caught up with us.😩 Patriot League has smart coaching!🏈🕷️🕸️

Stop with the horizontal passing. Go vertical.

Honest question, have we had a single WR screen (or whatever we’re attempting when we throw it horizontally) go for more than 5 yards? I really can’t remember it being successful one time. Yet we still do it. I thought the passes down the middle to aziz and Dawsons catch on 3rd and 2 were great, but then we went right back to the plays that have literally never worked.

The offensive line can't run block very well. The horizontal passing is an attempt to get the playmakers outside in space to make a play. It's okay occasionally but not 10 times a game. We've got to get more creative than that. Udinski threw basically the same pass, it was just 7 or 8 yards down field. He also worked the middle of the field way more than this current offense. We're not talking significant changes. Geez.
