2025–26 opponent tracking

W+M might end up being the second best team we play OOC. I am interested to see how they perform against Duquesne and GW.

Davidson looked good - to win by 10 on a general poor shooting night was impressive. Spanish freshman is going to be very solid player and for some reason missed that Sam Brown from Penn had transferred to the Wildcats.

Loyola takes another one on the chin, this time from a not-very-good Northern Illinois team. As noted BC, is an ACC doormat, but I'll certainly take the Davidson win over them. P5 games are hard enough to come by, much less win.

On the OOC side, a head-to-head game shows us ECU really isn't very good as Charleston Southern takes them down. And Charlotte heading for yet another disappointing season with a close loss to App State.

Fairly quiet night, with just one OOC game seeing VMI losing to Stetson. In the A-10, Dayton and VCU cruised over low-major opponents, while Duquesne fell to Northeastern and La Salle rolled over a non-D-I opponent.

An 0–2 day for the A-10 with GW falling to McNeese and Davidson getting blown out by Utah State.

On the OOC side, there were some decent results with Furman getting their first D-I win, Illinois State destroying Coastal, and Southern Illinois cruising over Delaware, but Charlotte barely scraped by a D-II while ODU lost a close one to Drexel.

11/23

Non-conference (4–1, 3–1 vs D-I)
- Furman 90, Queens 79
- Charlotte 83, Shaw (D-II) 79
- Southern Illinois 79, Delaware 59
- Drexel 75, ODU 71
- Illinois State 94, Coastal Carolina 42

A-10 (0–2)
- McNeese 92, GW 86
- Utah State 94, Davidson 60

GW rebounds from the McNeese loss with a decent win over Middle Tennessee while Mason blows out a bad Ohio team, but Rhody falls to Towson for a 2–1 A-10 day.

Mixed bag on the OOC side, with W&M picking up another win over a middling UTEP squad, Belmont routing Saint Francis before it heads to D-III next year, and Elon absolutely roasting an App State squad that just beat Charlotte a few days ago. But Southern Illinois fell to a decent UAB team while The Citadel couldn't get the job done against Bellarmine.

11/24

Non-conference (3–2)
- W&M 74, UTEP 63
- UAB 81, Southern Illinois 73
- Belmont 94, Saint Francis 57 - Still no Noyes.
- Elon 88, App State 53
- Bellarmine 70, The Citadel 58

A-10 (2–1)
- Towson 62, Rhody 55
- GW 92, Middle Tennessee 79
- Mason 92, Ohio 69

Bonus exhibition opponent (1–0)
- JMU 80, FIU 72

Watched some of ODU vs Villanova game tonight and not sure why ODU got blown out in some of their games so far. Have plenty of size, are fairly quick and made 11/23 3 pt shots. Will see how the W&M vs ODU game goes on Sunday for a common opponent matchup. Either way, I expect to see a good game on 12/6.

Another middling day with Mason getting a nice win over FAU and Rhody taking out Vermont, but Murray State got a bucket with one second left to take down GW by a point, while Loyola of course got embarrassed by UNI. Bona fell to UNC by 15, but no shame in that. And St. Joe's stomped a D-III.

In the OOC portion, also not a great day, although W&M rolled Abilene Christian despite missing/losing several players. ODU did manage to hang with Villanova at RichmondNative just mentioned. But ECU unsurprisingly got blown out by Michigan State, while Charleston Southern beat a D-III and Southern Virginia lost to W&L.

11/25

Non-conference (2–3, 1–2 D-I vs D-I)
- W&L (D-III) 76, Southern Virginia (D-III) 63

- W&M 92, Abilene Christian 58
- Villanova 89, ODU 75
- Charleston Southern 93, Piedmont (D-III) 81

A-10 (3–3, 2–3 vs D-I)
- UNC 85, Bona 70
- Rhody 80, Vermont 65
- UNI 72, Loyola 51
- St. Joe's 100, Rutgers-Camden (D-III) 61
- Mason 74, FAU 65
- Murray State 96, GW 95

My updates might be a bit sparse through the weekend due to a Thanksgiving ski trip, but we'll see. Will definitely at least be keeping tabs on our own games.
