2025–26 opponent tracking

SLU and VCU stay in the top tier, while GW perhaps surprisingly dropped one to Davidson. Wildcats were up double digits for most of the second half, including with under 4 to play. GW managed to cut it to three but couldn't pull even.

Rough day on the OOC side, with Furman the only D-I opponent to pick up a win. Southern Illinois with a disappointing loss to Drake in OT. Salukis had the ball for the final shot down one in OT but turned it over and had to send Drake back to the line for the final margin. SIU had been up as much as 17 early in the second half. Charleston Southern also lost a tough one to USC Upstate, with Upstate finishing regulation on an 8–0 run over the final 4 minutes to send the game to OT where they were able to complete the comeback. Oh, and Gardner-Webb fell to 0–16 against D-I competition at the hands of Chu and Radford. (They also have a D-II loss.)

Another not-great night for our opponents, with W&M being the only one to pick up a win. The Citadel came close, leading UNCG by 14 at the half but the game went to OT and UNCG pulled it out there. ODU dropped a close one to a decent Georgia Southern squad, while Elon and VMI also took Ls.

Just one impact game on a very light Friday night slate overall. Dayton and Loyola played a tight first half that saw the Flyers only up one at the break, but they got things going in the second half and rolled to an easy win.

A-10

Quality Q1 loss for the Spiders today, so it's time to check in our how our opponents did.

Three of the other four A-10 teams in action today represented the Spiders' three A-10 wins so far this season, with Fordham falling to Duquesne and Bona losing to La Salle.

Decent bit of action on the OOC side, including a pair of double-opponent matchups that saw The Citadel cruise by VMI and Belmont pick up a win over Southern Illinois. SIU was up 5 with under 3:30 to go, but a 10–0 Belmont run flipped the script heading into the final seconds. Furman was up 13 on Wofford with 10 minutes to go, but the Terriers proceeded to go on a 17–0 run to take the lead and hang on for the win in that one. ODU nearly gave up a 10-point lead over App State with just 87 seconds to go but hung on for the win there. And Elon got a decent road win over Hofstra in a tight game. Oh, and Gardner-Webb is STILL looking for their first D-I win, losing to Presby by 37.

Man I don't know how you have the ability to carry this thread through with these updates, our fool's gold was exposed nationwide today, but even before that we knew our opponent's results would mean nothing for us, given how poor the OOC schedule was. Thanks for it, I do especially appreciate the A10 updates.

On that topic, is Schmidt on the hot seat at Bona? Losing to Lasalle and Fordham in same year, 0-5 in league, after tons of offseason Woj hype must be something the SBU decision makers are not all that happy with. 145 on KenPom. Lost to Ohio in OOC then beat relatively new D-1 team LeMoyne, then 5 straight conference losses. Last 3 years: 9,9 and 8 conference wins, even tho won 20 or more games overall two of those years.

Just one impact game today, and it was a double with Charlotte hanging on to beat ECU after being up by double digits midway through the second half.

Non-conference (1–1)
-Charlotte 73, ECU 70
