Worst bookstore in the nation?

Walk-on
Trying to understand why we have a top 10 lacrosse team, yet I can only find 1 dance team t-shirt and 1 baseball t-shirt on the bookstore’s website. Our bookstore has always had a limited selection, but this is beyond pathetic. Also, do we have the worst lawyers in the country who couldn’t get us permission to just put a spider on clothing items without the tiny and awkward “UR” next to it? Finally, did we find the cheapest graphic designers to come up with that logo? Embarrassing all around.

The UR next to the Spider is the absolute worst logo. Another sign that the University doesn’t care about fan support. Somehow the athletes manage to have gear with just a Spider logo. Of course, Mooney is the model for the fans - don’t wear any gear or team colors for that matter.

Whoever the buyer is for the bookstore needs to be informed that some clothing options have changed since 1997. They still sell some of the 100% cotton t-shirts they had back then. Blah. There have been a few advancements in clothing styles, shockingly, since then.

Just wanted to remind everyone that with a victory over Cornell, we could have the #1 ranked men’s lacrosse team in the nation. Yet, you can’t find a lacrosse shirt at the school. A dance team shirt in men’s sizes? Yes, of course.

I completely agree and have commented this to my wife whenever we visit UR. Looks the exact same as when we were students. The bookstore is often the first and last thing prospective students and families visit before leaving campus. Needs to make an impression. For all the renovation our school focuses on, surprised this isn’t one of them.

I remember discussions around a renovated Commons with greatly enhanced bookstore some 20 or more years ago, but it never came to fruition.

The new master plan calls for a refreshed and reimagined student-focused Commons, moving some of the more administrative functions it houses elsewhere. Hopefully a revamped bookstore is part of that, but of course no guarantees that a renovated physical facility will translate to a better selection of products.
