WNBA Draft - Monday April 13 - ESPN 7:00pm EDT

Sections 204and5

Bench player
Old board or new board, I can't recall ever having a WNBA draft thread.

There are three rounds and all will be held tomorrow night so we'll know Maggie Doogan's fate before the evening is over. At least for me, I'll be interested in where some of the players the Spiders have faced end up.

Coverage is on ESPN and you can follow the draft board online at this link:

From what I have read, Maggie’s name should be called mid to late 2nd round. 3 rounds of 15. With right team, she should have a good chance at a roster spot.

Looks like it might be close. 11 picks left, and ESPN has her as the 13th best available remaining. 4th best PF still on the board.

Dunn had 21 and 11 in the 3OT game against us when Maggie went off, but we completely shut her down in the rematch…2 points and 2 boards.

No Maggie. Dunn was the only non-P4 or international player picked. Hurts that it had to be another A-10 player. Looks like Dunn benefited from the draft not being deep at SF.

Kinda glad how it worked out.Maggie doesn’t fit the “conventional profile”of an WNBA player.Never thought of her to be overly physical even at the A10 level.

I guess the 10 international players were not anticipated by the mock draft experts. Sorry Maggie didn’t get drafted, but at least she was smart about watching from home versus having a more public event. Hope she gets picked up as a free agent and gets a chance that way.
