What's the earliest you'd get really excited about this season?

With this schedule, it's not outside the realm of possibility that we're undefeated entering A10 play. At Belmont is the only Q2 game, I think. We have 3 Q3's max (if we play Ill St). The rest are Q4's.
 
This poll and results so far have at least given me a good laugh, thanks sman. If we are blowing everyone out by 25 points in the ooc, I will be excited. But as SF noted, the weak OOC last season was too daunting.

Also, if we beat JMU 101 to 99 in 4 quarters, my defensive concern will be through the roof.
 
The fastest I have become really excited about a season was ~10 minutes into the 2024 season when Jordan King had already scored 17 points.
 
I am a sucker, and if we are able to blow out teams by 20 points and certain guys on the roster look legit - will probably fall for it and get excited. But in the back of my head I will be with 4700 on this one. Such a weak OOC, it's going to be hard to accurately assess our team. For example, if Tyne and Tanner are playing in the "small lineup" discussed - they may look very good. And I hope they did take a step and are very good. But, Tanner is not a PF in the A10. And even as a wing his biggest weakness IMO was being able to keep guys in front of him on the defensive end. So if we are winning by 15 points and he is scoring 12 pts per game, all may look good - but in reality not sustainable vs good comp. Maybe it is and that is great, but if it is not, now we have used the OOC to have a false positive outcome and have to re-adjust again. Down is up and up is down.
 
I don't think we've ever seen Mooney go with a small line up for more than a couple minutes.
If Daughtry isn't ready, I expect AP, and then either McGlothin or JRob at the big forward spot. Maybe Tanner for a couple minutes.
But I hope Daughtry will be ready for 20 mpg.

Completely agree. My level of excitement matches what seemingly is coming from our administration with this schedule they threw together for a very specific reason; they didn't think we were going to be very good either.
