We're officially doomed

Nope, he just inserted a paragraph at the beginning of the earlier Steel City Shuffle article.

Hardt saying or doing nothing is spot on.

Tho I was kinda hoping for "Chris Mooney is returning. Full Stop." Hardt in all his pretentious douchiness really strikes me as a guy to use the term Full Stop. So I could have seen that too.

If there was any possibility of this scenario, today was certainly a push toward it happening. Today was a mentally crushing defeat that will be on Mooney, Hardt and the UR record for all time.

Losing a 2nd time to single digit wins Loyola on Weds in the pillow fight would be another.

I can't see it though.
Can’t see the scenario happening or us losing again?

up to almost 69k views on JOC's tweet. Historic.

Chef's kiss on the timing to reaffirm Hardt has no idea what he's doing.

Fire Hardt.
I hope in this case he does know what he is doing. Say Mooney will return. Then, we lose in A-10 tourney ( and have a losing season even after a garbage filled OOC schedule). Then, a day after the A-10 tourney, Mooney "retires" so a coach who has been here 20+ years can go out without getting fired. Makes sense to me.

If this were the case why do you think he would need to preface the retirement announcing that Mooney would return versus not commenting on it at all?

Because it is now out there that he is returning, making his "retirement" seem more legit. Had Hardt not said anything, then we would likely hear more "was he really fired?" talk. I still have this as only 16% happening ( up from 15% yesterday. 😀), but I need something to hope for after these last 2 miserable seasons.

Everything about these seasons was miserable. Everything. The OOC schedules, the excuses, the alarming amount of bad losses, the lack of quality wins, the poor coaching pretty much every game, the ridiculous "proud of" post game comments,...should I keep going or does everyone get my point?

I still can’t get over the fact Hardt thought it would be a good idea to announce a coach with a 5-12 conference record about to be bottom 4 in the A10 again during the season - assuming the purpose was a vote of confidence in his ability to lead this team. And to not do it himself or give any explanation as to why. What a slap in the face to all Spider fans. If that was the case, to then lose to a mediocre Duquesne team literally the next day in arguably the most humiliating loss in the history of our program, was incredibly poetic. If the admin wants to play stupid games, they’ll win stupid prizes.

If it was to legitimize a retirement as you suggest is a small possibility, then it hopefully eases the decision now to be made more easily by Mooney.

Cynically? Because it makes it look like we’re super supportive of our 20 year coach so it looks more like it was his decision to retire.

There’s one possibility I didn’t mention earlier and it’s maybe a 2% chance. He’s going to “retire” and they know it but won’t announce it until after the season is complete.

This is far fetched but I’m going to hang onto this like a survivor of the titanic.
My thought as well

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.....kind of like scheduling the 350th OOC schedule to make sure u have a winning season, and then have a losing season, your 3rd in 4 years.
