I just got an email for this as well. At the bottom of the email I clicked the link to disable all emails. We’ll see if that works for the future.

hmm - I turned off all emails in preferences yesterday and so far so good. I also unchecked the by default "watch" posts for content/threads you create since prefer just the notifications.
I am trying the same thing. It did go to the site to update so that is promising. I tried everything in the preferences including doing multiple saves which did not work.
I had left the “auto” options on, but unchecked the e-mail option so maybe that is why you see something different.
Sorry about that. I've changed the defaults for new users so when they start or interact with a thread, it'll get added to their watched list but won't generate emails every time there's an update. Unfortunately, it only affects new registrations going forward. As most of you seem to have discovered, existing users can disable them by unchecking the "and receive email notifications" boxes in the content options section here:
But I think even this only goes into effect going forward, so you'll still receive emails for threads you've already interacted with. The solution to that is to go here:
Then click the "Manage watched threads" dropdown at the top right of the list and click "Disable email notification."
I've left on the default option to receive an email when someone sends you a direct message, as in my experience users tend to appreciate off-forum notification of those. But that too can be turned off in the email options section of preferences:

That seemed to do the trick, I had unchecked everything prior.
The only other minor usability thing I’ve noticed is on mobile.
On the old forum, the top left always had a button to take you back to the home page of the forum.
Here that button exists, but I have to scroll back up to the top to click it instead of it moving with the screen as I scroll to the bottom of the thread.
It would probably take me a decade to learn how to change that, so this is not a complaint by any means.
