Transfer Portal

Huesman’s don’t give a sh-t attitude whether you stay or leave doesn’t help.
If players think they can compete at a higher level and get paid, what the head coach thinks doesn't make any difference. They're gone, even if it means sitting out a year entirely, like Coleman.

My guess is they already have offers, through their "agency." Which is a polite term for an organization selling FCS players to FBS programs and probably taking their cut as the facilitator/middlemen.

Question - I believe Barnett, the starting QB at JMU has eligibility remaining after this year. He's had a good year. Who knows if he hits portal or not. If he stays, then my guess is he's QB next year over Cam at JMU. Anybody have scoop on this? Did Cam get any assurances on his sitting out this year?

Let’s see how many returning eligible starters from Lehigh and Lafayette and Villanova decide to hit the transfer portal.
The PL team's recruits were recruited to the PL. The Spiders' recruits that have left so far were not. I'm guessing that there's a good number of players recruited to the PL that value the education and degree from the school that they selected. I agree that Villanova will be an interesting watch. Richmond will be interesting going forward following the kids that were recruited to the PL. But as Wood stated, there's a lot of tampering going on because it's a free for all.

Villinova lost a 3 year starter at WR to JMU this year that has shared success with Ellis and Degenaro. Also Lafayette lost a their top Offensive lineman to Rutgers this year!

I do not know the answer to this just wondering what you and others think, and you and others are pretty good at this type of stuff.

Do you think Lehigh and Lafayette seniors are more likely to be out of eligibility due to the lack of redshirting in the PL in the past?
They might not lose as many

I know some of Spiders stay until they have a degree and take their last year elsewhere, figure same might be true for Nova, but do not know as fact. So far, the two leaving that we know about are grads I believe.

Of course, all four (including Richmond with the three you mentioned) might lose an underclassman stud or two every year.

I tend to think Nova and W&M will not get hammered like Richmond did during the move, nor will Spiders this year, because the players will know they are going into a pretty solid conference, but I certainly can be wrong with that thinking (I may be more hoping they do not get hit as badly more than thinking).

This just in... According to sources, Russ Huesman is expected to take the head coaching job at James Madison University.
The UR administration has decided to throw Chris Mooney into the mix, to sweeten the deal.

It's all a Spider would want for Christmas.. to lose two coaches at once.

What if their new coach, if he's not already on staff, brings his QB with him?

Nothing is guaranteed.
In other words, Huesman could take a QB of his choice and his favorite offensive coordinator? Plus Mooney, plus John Hardt? Maybe we could get someone to throw in a cool $1M to finalize the deal. How do we sign up? We could start a GoFundMe page right now.
