I have no problem with a “highlight” for a player returning for his 4th year.
If they do the same for all the returning players individually, then that is the wrong message to send in my opinion.

I certainly don't mind that he's returning given the program experience and maturity he brings and how little of it we have otherwise, and we're not bringing in six all-league transfers so we still need role players, but yeah, there's no need for him to be receiving a big bag.
Moon loyalty factor?
Might be a role player as indicated, but no doubt he'll start again.
We really need to up what we'll get in portal otherwise we might be looking up at 5-14 in A10 play.

These will probably be famous last words but I don’t see Tanner coming back as a starter. He was the top starter at arguably our weakest position on the floor, for a terrible team. You have to upgrade that spot.
I guess we’ll see but if that happens it’ll be time to abandon all hope. (Btw, I like Tanner, seems like a good kid, but he’s had his chance.)

Agreed 100%. If Tanner is starting the opening game then there is no reason to watch the rest of the season play out. He's proven he cannot be an A10-level regular. He'll be fine as a depth/bench piece, but there is no world in which he can be starting again next year.

I agree. Tanner will be a senior 4 year player, who knows Mooney's system inside and out, so Mooney will want him out there for loyalty and experience. Get ready for lots of talk over the summer about how much Tanner has improved, so he can start Day 1, if only to be benched before OOC is over after he is in fact the same player he has always been.

And your response is exactly why I said he'd be a starter. Regardless of who we get in the portal, don't we know Moon's thinking by now?

We can hope. I’m sure they’ll do Mooney’s favorite thing and “compete.” Hoping Mooney does not try to force Kaiser at the 4, even though he is likely capable of some minutes there. Need more size.
