Spiders No. 19

A unit last season was worth ~$113,000 paid out over three years, and we obviously earned two units. But the money goes to the conference, not the school. I know it was reported quite a while ago that the A-10 gives 75% to the school that earned the units and 25% distributed to the rest of the schools for the men, but I don't know if that's still the case and if the same policy applies to the women.

A look at all the bracketologies that have updated since our loss:

- ESPN: As noted, Creme has us as the last team in, facing Nebraska in a First Four game.

- USA Today: Surprisingly, Northam has us as the last bye, a 10-seed facing NC State. Rhody is an 11-seed in his bracket.

- The Athletic: Last team in, facing UVA in a First Four game.

- IX Sports: First team out.

- Her Hoops Stats: Last team in, facing Arizona State in a First Four game.

Fairfield win should move us into IX Sports' bracket with tomorrow's update, as we were first team out and they had Quinnipiac with the MAAC auto since they were the top seed and Fairfield in with an at large.

And helps our case to say that we lost to a conference champ. Actually three (Rhody and Texas too). But then destroying Rhody obviously helps us a ton as well. Really our only questionable loss is GW, we tested ourselves against a great schedule, and we still won 26 games. There’s no excuse for us not to be in.
Yeah, four of our seven losses were to tournament teams (Texas, TCU, Rhody, Fairfield) and two others were to a team (Mason) that was 3 points away from going dancing themselves.

GW was a huge bummer and Roussell said as much in the final postgame...he said no team should have to play three road games in five days, and it ends with going to OT and your star player fouls out. If UR wins that game, they've got a share of the A-10 regular season title and I think they would be going into Selection Sunday feeling very confident about things rather than crossing fingers as we are now.
