Postmortem Offense

We're going nowhere with Wickersham as QB, end of story.
I am more of an optimist. Two years ago, Wickersham had a 73% completion rate.

I will grant you that Wickersham is not Tom Brady, Dak Prescott or even Patrick Ma***es, but can't QB skills be learned? Aren't these motor skills and muscle memory? A coach can teach skills, correct? I know that in a recent interview Wickersham said he lost weight, which would help him run over people.

Someone more knowledgeable than I will have to answer this question.

I am worried that we will try to run the same offensive schemes in the Carolina game. If that happens, we may lose our QB.

If he lost weight, he must have weighed 400 pounds before.

We are quick to forget that KW singlehandedly won the Elon game 2 years ago and played great when given the chance. When he is set loose he's very good. Take away his injuries, he won the starting spot every year for a reason.

Last season our offense with Kyle was handicapped by an OC who put him in a box. I am confident Jacob will find an offense that suits Kyle well considering their play style similarities.

He won the starting spot because Huesman is hellbent on recreating his Chatty offense that was run by his son, who also now happens to be our OC, not because he actually had more talent than Coleman. I think we saw what happened when Coleman got to play -- we scored a ton of points and won a lot of games. Not exactly what was happening when KW was in there. Nothing against the kid, but we aren't going anywhere with him as QB.

Not necessarily true. Cam played great through the end stretch of the season but prior to that Kyle had him beat. Rep for Rep through practices and camp that I saw Kyle was clearly better. Kyle threw a better deep ball and obviously had better legs. It was evident that the playbooks were completely different for the two guys last year with Cam being allowed to air it out simply due to play calling. Wish Kyle stayed healthy through the season to show it like he had 2 years ago.

So they just didn't let Wickersham air it out just because, even though he was capable? Not buying it. Wickersham may be better if you want your QB to run for 6 yards and then throw 15 yard sideline-outs all day long, but that's not going to get us anywhere. Exhibit A last Saturday.

I think we're all forgetting that this was the first game of the season, with a new OC, and fresh faces across the board on offense. No need for panic mode yet. I don't think Kyle was the problem on Saturday. Our O-line needs to step up, and we need to be more multiple on offense, but that comes with time and reps. This team has plenty of talent and will be successful.

Quite literally the exact situation. Kyle will be the best QB in the Patriot League.

Huseman Jr was Kyle’s QB coach in ‘24.We’ve got what we started exactly as last season.
