Mooney's Plan?

The thing he has beat our reputation down so much, that NIL being equal we are no longer much of a destination and he is not that enticing of a coach. Unless you like comfort and lack of physicality, which im sure some players do.
Yep. Guys having to play out of place on defense. Guys having to play too structured on offense. No freedom. Most freshman will either redshirt or play very little. Play all boring games OOC. Sure, who wouldn't want to come here????? Not only are we easy to coach against, but we are also easy to recruit against.

Sounds about right. All this will be solved by dumping more money into the kitty so you have a bunch of players spending half their time looking for their next big paycheck.

His plan is to keep doing things no other coach in college basketball does - the game is going to catch up to his strategies eventually.

Some highlights:
  • have the big guys guard the little guys on the perimeter and the lil guys guard the big guys under the basket
  • don't start your best players
  • do not for any reason try for offensive rebounds
  • ice your own team by calling timeouts to stop your own runs
  • take as may low percentage shots as you can
  • try not to dunk the ball (credit Spiders Sound Off)

Welcome on board. It frees your winter nights, your frustrations, and any need for March madness excitement.
This season, for the first time since I stopped UR season tickets 12-13 years ago, we’ve attended five college bb games (not UR) and it has been fun to watch basketball again and not leave the game po-ed.
If you’re in Richmond , RMC is fun and competent. They are hosting CNU Friday night in the D3 sweet sixteen.

Don’t forget:
  • Have an offense predicated on aimlessly passing the ball around the perimeter for 25 seconds of the shot clock
  • Sub out players every 2 minutes to prevent any momentum in the games
  • Play with energy only in the 2nd half of games. Except for Duquesne, which was only the first half.

Merkel is such a great coach.

Have been to several Macon games with a good friend who is Yellow Jacket. Have enjoyed it as it reminds me of my high school games. Moreover it’s easy to park as the gym holds 1,300 max. Have suggested to him that the Henrico Sports and Events Center would be ideal for the D3 National Championship which generally draws 2,800 to 3,000. D3 is a notch above high school and as such is great fun.

I wanted to make it out to a Yellow Jacket game but didn’t make it this year. Looks like I will have plenty of chances next season.

Here's an accompanying video from the press conference today. Again, good on JOC for actually asking Mooney some direct questions. Still, Mooney can just dance around them as he's so adept at doing.

I am so tired of this concept of "doing everything we can to represent the University the right way" that he keeps bringing up. How about doing everything we can to recruit/build the best roster and win games every year?? How about doing everything we can to analyze our current offensive/defensive systems to determine if they're still effective in this era of basketball?

I cant watch this video. Wouldnt wver think about it. I would first nit be able to stop throwing up and then I would throw my computer out a window. I dislike this bozo that much.

It is so rare that CM apologizes to fans or admits mistakes. He just goes
on with the excuses. I would like for him to learn a little humility. Tarrant
and Belein just told it like it is which was refreshing.
And besides on court performance by Tarrant and Beilein, their humility as a defining character also separates them from coach for life. We were so lucky to experience the years of Tarrant and Beilein.
