Jack McCaffery - Transfer Commit

If he weren't a little slow, with his size and being an inside/outside stretch 4, he would be a big time P5 guy. I am liking this one a lot. What a great fit with Kaiser.

*AA.
*Guard with size from portal.
*Kaiser.
*McCaffery.
*Dorries.

I am liking this lineup.

That's ironic that we'd end up with a McCaffrey. His older two kids turned into pretty good players. Let's hope he is the third who does.

Also looks like he was part of an unfortunate pedestrian incident a few years ago:

Those pedestrian walk ways need to have a blinking light on the sign that a walker/jogger can press that a driver can see. And the pedestrians should never assume a car will see you and stop there. I have always felt those were dangerous spots in a road, especially a 2 lane each way road.

Now, back to hoops. Great addition and look forward to seeing him here.

Pro's: Big time recruit who is a coaches son, both of his brothers were players. Con's played in the first 9 games at Butler and was getting only mop up minutes in competitive games.

So, he could be GW3 part 2, or perhaps he lives up to the hype. One would hope that Mojo saw him play extensively and ergo saw potential. Time will tell.

I am not as worried about your con. He was a true freshman. He played 9 games before his season ending wisdom teeth surgery. He lost weight instead of gaining weight. That year didn't even happen as far as I am concerned and we just landed a top 100 recruit that Wake and VT offered.

While he didnt get much experience in year 1 at Butler, he has been around the game his whole life and high level coach and players, I think his basketball IQ will offset any physical limitations. And at 6'9 and hopefully getting stronger should be a good combination.

Hope he has a little bit of that crazy gene his dad possesses 😀

One article I read said he chose Butler over UVA as his final decision. So, possible UVA offer as well.

What were his offers in the portal? That might give a more accurate representation of his perceived talents than offers out of high school at this point. On paper seems like a great get!
