Game Thread - @ Loyola Sat Feb 28 4pm EST - CBS Sport Network

Did we try to pressure this walk on PG?
Not that I saw. One would think we down at the end of the game and with Loyola have not 1 but 2 sub 50% FT shooters on the floor, that we would have exhibited maximum pressure and fouled either of these 2 players if our pressure didn't create a turnover. That's not what we did though. Just ran the same usual sets we always run.

These last 2 seasons are the lowest it has been since Mooney started here. These 2 years are way worse than the back to back 20 loss seasons. As bad as those years were, we went 17-23 against the A-10 then, way better than our current 10-25 mark.

I know many on here think Mooney will definitely be back next year. I keep having a little hope that we could see some positive news a few days after a 20 point, 1st game A-10 tourney loss.
I think most of us who have wanted Mooney gone for the better part of 10 years have lost faith and view him as untouchable. However, the past 2 years as you point out are the lowest of his 21 years here and he has very little on the roster that gives hope for the future (outside of AA, we don't have an A-10 caliber starter on the roster).

Those 2 facts do present a different situation than we have had in the past. This is why I think things like losing at Loyola, hopefully getting steamrolled by Dayton in our last home game and a first round A-10 tourney loss may are not insignificant. No one knows the tipping point for the decision makers but any little weight we can add to that side of the ledger needs to be added.

Until they prove otherwise, theres no reason to think his seat is even warm at this point.

For a long time I kept thinking "surely this loss" or "surely this bad year" or "surely this recruiting miss", etc. will lead to a change. Instead we are right where we've been for 2 decades and it's crickets from the powers that be.

If it really takes a blowout loss in the pillow fight game then our AD and admin r inept.

Correction it validates their known ineptness.
One of the things I take consolation in, is that if UR academic performance over the last 2 decades mirrored the basketball program, the administration would have the same response…

We will not know his seat is warm until it is red hot and he is gone, cause that is how these things work. But yes, I do agree with everything else you said. He should have been canned a long time ago if anyone was paying even close attention to the ins and outs of our program.

My confidence will flip one day. Unfortunately it will take the admins making a change. Certainly nothing has shown concretely that there’s one foot out the door.

For anyone who actually watched the game, what was the story with Harper? Got 3 minutes total? Did he commit a benchable offense?

They said his ankle or leg was injured, think it was wrapped up. I think they were just limiting his minutes due to that
