This was a great Win by the team. Mason was physical and had active hands in passing lanes and we met the challenge. As Coach said, the steal by Newell that put us up by 6 really fueled a Spider surge and the Patriots had no answer.

agree about Newell's steal and basket...they had come from 15 down to only 4 in minutes...had the ball with a chance to cut it to a single possession...looked like we were on the ropes when she made the play...don't believe the Pats got back into a single possession situation again
Newell's quickness is impressive and she can be very disruptive for opponents as witnessed...

Newell is a great player for us and is big time on the defensive end. On offense, she’s had too many missed layups though. I think it’s the way she attacks the basket. It almost seems like she’s trying to make an acrobatic play anticipating the foul. Also would love to get more consistency in her 3 point shooting. I’m sure things coach will work on. By her senior year I think she’ll be at least 2nd team all conference.

finishing at the rim has been a challenge...I think she's so quick that she has more time than she realizes...her outside shot has a crazy rotation...I'd expect someone will be working with her to see if they can make it more conventional...I like her future too!
