Yikes. 7 turnovers in first 8 minutes lead to 13 Elon points. Can't win that way! 4 of them in a less than 3 minute span!

Not only turnovers (up to 9 already!), but live ball turnovers leading to easy hoops. Brutal so far and keeping Elon in the game.

My personal whipping boy AP having a great last 3-4 min of the half. Pretty much a single handed 8-0 run. Steal, rebounds, assist and 2 threes.

Up 6 at half, but some real chinks in the armor.
Shooting is really all that kept us afloat. Shot 60% including 64% from three. But some ominous other things that we really need to fix since the shooting numbers are probably unsustainable. 12 turnovers leading to 19 points can't happen again in 2nd half and win. Plus they got to the line 9 times to our 2. Also hard to win that way! Some will say we outrebounded them because we had more rebounds than them, but thats a misleading number. They missed a ton more shots than we did leading to more defensive rebounds for us than them. They actually had more offensive rebounds than we did, so while we were ok on the glass (for a Mooney team), we didn't really outrebound them.
We need to be better almost across the board in 2nd half to offset the regression to the mean on shooting that seems likely to come!

Didn't take long for the shooting to revert. But the TO keep coming (3 more in first 4 min)!

I suspect we spend the rest of break and OOC re-installing the Mooney offense that values no turnovers above all! Otherwise he's gonna die from this. This team is diametrically opposed to everything he seemingly believes in!

I think this is more of a result of Elon playing a matchup zone against us all game. Our standard offense doesn’t really work against the zone…so the guys have to create and move more freely than the very deliberate sets we run against man. I think it will be a big problem for us if there’s any A10 teams willing to go zone all game.

I agree its part of the problem and Mooney teams have always struggled against zone. Always. You'd think maybe he'd try a new zone offense one of these years! But we are also making a lot of sloppy mistakes and bad decisions.
