Davidson is 16-10 overall and 8-5 in A10. Lost 4 of their last 6 games but only by 7 to URI away. ESPN suggest a 64% winning chance.

I think this will be a very tight game. Davidson’s record may not reflect it as much but they are a very good. Could see them winning the A10 tournament. They’ll also remember the 3OT game and will play motivate to avenge that game. I think will be tight and hopefully Spiders pull away around the 4th quarter.

Davidson has one potential advantage- they are coming off their bye week. Still, I don’t think they can play any better than they did in the RC, they haven’t played anywhere nearly that well since and I expect a Richmond win. Some other items of note:
Columbia beat Princeton again tonight so not only does it make our Columbia win look better but it should put more distance in the NET between us and Princeton which entered the game at 44.
URI is at Mason tomorrow afternoon at 3pm. We would like Mason to win - right?
And to document the continuing communication gaffes of our AD, today’s Morning Jolt contained the following: “The women’s basketball team is NOT (my emphasis) on a 10-game win streak…” I suppose they intended to use NOW and hope this was not foreshadowing.

Yes, please...Mason to beat Rhody gives us all one A-10 loss (assuming we beat Davidson, no sure thing), and then we control our own destiny for the outright title by facing both of them again. I suppose the potential downside is a greater chance of slipping to third behind both of them, but I think we need at least a share of the title to be in at-large discussion anyway, so knock Rhody down to a three-way tie in the loss column and let the chips fall where they may the rest of the way.
A Rhody win isn't a disaster because we can still tie them by running the table and if they only lose to us the rest of the way then we both finish at 17–1, but the outright title would obviously be better.

Struggling a bit early - especially on defense, but Davidson struggling to finish! Offense a little out of sync as well. A little concerning that Davidson is getting consistently better looks than we are!

12-0 run for Davidson. We are struggling on both ends. Giving up a lot of good looks and not getting many good ones ourselves. 3 point shooting keeping us in!

Maggie looks a little tired today which wouldn't be surprising. She plays a ton of minutes and carries such a huge load in all phases for all those minutes. It can wear on you over time and if you get out of routine with a minor illness etc. you can have a little crash. Gonna need others to step up today it looks like.

12-0 run followed by an 8-0 run for us but then another 9-0 run for them. Big difference is there shots are much better looks than ours. We havent had many good looks and threes are keeping us in it. We need to get much better on defense to start.

Spiders answer again with 10-0 run in last 3 minutes of their own. Defense really stepped up. And Maggie seems to have found her legs.

Defense has been better sine mid-2nd but not great by any means. Coach is not going to be amused by some of our struggles just keeping the Davidson perimeters from driving. Way too many straight line drives and then problems behind that with our rotations.

Spiders smoking hot from 3 in the third and take a 14 point lead into the 4th. Played a really good 2 min stretch to end the quarter without Maggie which is huge. When she sits, it forces others to be more aggressive etc and everyone to run the offense better.

My rooting interest is definitely Mason over Rhode Island today. If Rhode Island wins and we win out there’s a small chance that we have a top 25 match up as our last home game in the RC but from a seeding and winning regular season perspective would rather have Mason win. Winning at Mason will be very tough and even if we lose to Mason, there’s a higher chance Mason loses another game than Rhode Island would to a team that isn’t us.
Basically, if Mason beats Rhode Island it gives us a better chance for an outright or tied regular season championship.
