I think this is a fair line. I would probably take Belmont -6.5 though. I think we keep it close for 30-35 minutes but falter at the end. Mooney never calls off the dogs, so I can see a parade of FT's at the end for Belmont to push them over the spread. Hope I'm wrong.

Not really. A win won’t catapult us into an at large convo, our schedule is too crappy for that. And a loss just means we lost on the road to what is likely a decent/Q2 team.

But sure, it’ll be an important test of how competitive the guys are likely to be going forward.

Agree, it's so frustrating that our OOC games don't matter. The Furman loss didn't matter, amd that stinks because I want to be excited and into a game like that. But, bottom line is, it meant nothing.

Truth. And while that is frustrating as a fan, I keep thinking that the players have to be disappointed as well not to have at least 1-2 games against the Big Boys to see how they can do. Those are games that we all circle to get excited about. Instead, we just have 2 months of slop before conference play.

Also worth nothing that a few of us liked Casey Alexander as a Mooney replacement a few years ago. Very good coach. He played at Belmont and has them in a pretty good place, unsurprisingly.
