AA needs to start on Saturday ...

Argabright should get 30-35m per game.

Tyne should get 6-8m per game as backup, 3-4m per half. The offense just doesn't seem to work when he's in there. He's not a playmaker.

Johnston and Thomas should get 40m combined, slightly more if UR plays 3 guard lineups. Both can make open shots. Whoever is playing better.

Lopez 25m, Harper 15m. Lopez can score, Harper can score. Shaky defense here, but whatever, look at the rest of the lineup.

Daughtry - 15m. He's such a liability with turnovers, it's negating any scoring he's doing at present. I actually support the hockey line change with him - hope he can score twice then get him out of the game before he makes a wild play turnover.

Robinson - 15m. Literally no reason not to. Let him figure it out.

AP - 10m. Good intangibles, horrific shooting. That's a 10m guy description for sure.

Tanner - odd man out. Seems like a great guy.

Walz 28m - sure.
Beagle 12m - fine.

There's your rotation.

Brilliant ...

Homenick - 28
haha.

no offense to the kid, who may turn out to be great at some point, but UR will start a portal center next year for sure. It will probably take that guy 1.5 years to get up to speed on how to lose all basketball instincts he's previously learned, and to play 22 feet from the hoop with his back to the basket, but eventually he'll get it.

If there is one thing Moon is legit great at, it's wasting huge chunks of his best players' careers with incomplete rosters.

It’s interesting to have Tyne start over who is obviously the better player and Tyne will still be here next year - I wonder how many calls AA is getting from intermediaries already.

I am joking of course, but here’s where the developmental redshirt really comes into question.

With two centers out, he really should be the next guy up. I presume he’s just not at all ready and instead you get JRob or AP playing out of position.

Having more than 2 options is something that is never going to happen at a mid-major school in my opinion. Next year, it is more likely that the Spiders only have one option. Can’t wait.

Idk, roster size allows for it, and in theory your deep reserves are developing behind the guys that actually play.

But here’s the uncommon situation where the two players at a spot are injured and things get interesting. This is far more an issue at PG and to a lesser extent C, although for us the C is incredibly important as a distributor.

But frankly, this is exactly where you question the developmental redshirt, particularly if Walz and beagle are going to miss extended time. Hopefully their injuries aren’t serious.

AA ... yes, I agree we should start him. no I don't think he leaves if we don't. that's petty. he played 30 minutes. he's fine. but yes, we'll have to offer him an NIL level for next year that shows we see him as a cornerstone and the face of the program. he's a stud. he was great on both ends. if we make a "strong ass offer", I believe he'll stay for the same reasons he chose us in the first place. small guards have the opportunity to excel in Mooney's offense. we've seen it time and again. and assuming he enjoys playing close to home, that's a bonus.

as for a portal center next year ... we can hope. I know we did well with Quinn and Beagle. but everyone's always looking for a good big man. that won't be cheap for anyone proven. maybe we can find a guy transferring down who wasn't getting mintues. JRob is a little undersized but I really like what I see in his limited minutes.

AA should have been starting for a while now. Tyne has completely regressed and AA continues to play better and better and frankly is the best player on the team.

While I agree it is somewhat semantic whom are starting 5 is (which is weird as well) given the fact that AA players starter minutes and Tyne plays reserves minutes. But from a "he has a frickin earned to have his name called as a starter standpoint", it is completely unacceptable that AA is not starting. Reward the kid for his play, his effort, his hustle.

This season is toast, make him the face of our future now.

Tyne's last 3 games:

23 minutes: 0 points.
19 minutes: 0 points.
13 minutes: 0 points.

Not only should he not be starting, but he should be barely playing like Tanner is now. It took way too long to cut Tanner's minutes and it is amazingly taking even longer to cut Tyne's minutes.

I used to look so forward to our games, and would always watch on delay without knowing the score if I could not watch it live. Now, I just randomly follow the box score and play by play and get immediately frustrated when I see the 18 minute substitutions and get even more frustrated with the ongoing substitutions every few minutes. Newsflash: the constant subbing in and out is not working and has not worked all year. And, of course, we have Mooney's stupid sit with 2 fouls rule which means Lopez, one of our best players, played only 8 1st half minutes because of his 2 fouls.

Said on the other post, Tyne is basically just doing cardio out there. I don't know what has happened to him, but him starting like Tanner starting in OOC is a complete joke. I have no idea the allegiance to Tyne at this point. He needs to be benched like Tanner.

I agree with this. I also think we can make him the highest paid player on the team next season and give him all the minutes he can handle and there is a good chance he stays. I would imagine his size was the most limiting factor in his recruitment. Pair that with the fact that Richmond has been unique with the success of small guards and I think we can hang on to him.

One factor not being discussed. I think he, and most players, want to win. I guess he is young and convince himself that our young players will develop enough to win next season, and we will get some guys in the portal, especially some big guys. But if he doesn't have confidence in Mooney, maybe he bolts. And our schedule. No marquee games, no stage. Playing in your hometown only goes so far. He could transfer up, but may not have much guarantee of a clear path to huge minutes. But he seems confident so that may not be an issue. Can hear the woe is me excuses now if he were to transfer.
