All A-10 player
The season will shortly be upon us. Who is coming and who is going?

I figure these are our minimum needs:

Bigs: need at least 1 center type, maybe even two.
Forwards: minimally need a long wing forward, and maybe a 3/4 depending on returning daughtry/jrob
Guards: I’d say at least 1 shooting guard, I’m guessing against a transfer PG

only have 2 open spots, so it depends on who's going. and I'd rather not speculate on that.

My guess is Thomas and McLothin are gone, and Daughtry is a maybe. So, we will probably have 4 spots available, and maybe 5.
Daughtry is local guy, I suspect got decent $ to transfer here after 2 years at Indiana St, will be a senior, and would probably get more playing time next year. My guess is he stays. The other 2 - I don't know.

Agreed, I don’t see daughtry moving unless he felt underutilized (probably was) and thinks that’ll continue (it’s possible).

Thomas has transferred twice, sort of don’t think he’d donut again unless he was told to move on.

McGlothin, who knows. Spiderinsider said he has plenty of talent. He always looked very engaged fwiw.

Let’s make several assumptions here.

1. We will operate with $4 million NIL next season
2. 2 players will transfer
3. Our staff does not hand out NIL to existing players like candy and treating it like a participation trophy.

That means we’ll have 11 of 15 scholarships player rosters returning next year. Let’s take out AA. Of those 10 guys, I don’t know how much they are getting in NIL but in my opinion they should be getting less than $750K combined. Let’s say $1 million though to be conservative. AA probably will get $250K but let’s say AA gets $500K, again being extra conservative.

Based on these assumptions that would mean, conservatively, we would have $2.5 million left for 4 transfers or $625K a person. Non-conservative estimates would be $3 million for 4 players or $750K a person.

If the above assumptions are correct then we should absolutely be able to get top talent that can contribute day 1. This of course is contingent on my 3rd assumption that we distribute our NIL like a team serious about winning and not like we’re giving participation trophies and afraid to hurt players feelings. Just because you’re a senior does not mean you should get a lot of NIL. It should be reflective with the value you bring on the court. Period.

1. Underutilized and wants more of a sure thing in a better system.
2. Kind of why I think he will transfer again. Already did it twice, might as well try to find a better landing spot in a better system your final year. Maybe get 25+ mpg at a lesser conference.
3. I would be shocked if he is back.

None would surprise me, but I’m leaning stay on the first two, away on McG.

Daughtry only played 15 mpg and Thomas 14 on a bad team. This had to be an incredibly frustrating season for them both. I would leave if I were them.
Yeah I don’t disagree. I can see a scenario with Johnston gone that Thomas maybe expects to get more time. Not saying I expect that or even want that, although I thought he was fine. I liked him better than Johnston.

Don’t know about daughtry. We have almost no one with size on this roster and while his defense was marginal, he was reasonably effective on O.

And he was playing behind Lopez even though they are totally different types of players. Mooney Effect.

OU 5.5 returners is my line. Unsure about Tanner. Guy says Tyne is gone — Mooney and him have never gotten along. Mooney needs a cerebral PG… Tyne has just never connected in that way with Mooney.
