2025–26 opponent tracking

Remember that the little-guy conferences were shafted in the House settlement, so isn't even some of this amount being held back to pay for the $1 billion the non-P4 conferences are collectively on the hook for?

Believe the A-10 was on the hook for like $3m–$4m per year over 10 years, and it was being withheld from all kinds of NCAA payouts including the Basketball Performance Fund that comes from NCAA units. There was a lot of attention on that BS back in 2024/2025 when the House settlement stuff was going down, but I can't find any recent discussion about how it's affecting this year's NCAA payouts.
where did that House Settlement money go?

P4 football… ;)
Basically...75% to P5 (now P4) football athletes, 15% to P5 men's basketball athletes, 5% to P5 women's basketball athletes, and 5% split among all other sports and non-P5.

The NCAA is paying 41% of the cost out of their budget/reserves, non-P5 conferences are paying around 35%, and P5 conferences are paying 24%. Yet over 95% of the money is going to former P5 athletes.

how exactly is that being done? are they going back in time to determine everyone's NIL value? and for how long? is Johnny Manziel getting checks?
You had to file a claim if you were an athlete dating back to 2016. Payouts are calculated on various factors including broadcast NIL that are fixed for athletes in a given sport, year, and conference based on media rights figures, fixed video game rights for football and hoops players estimated from revenue if such video games had been permitted by the NCAA in those years, and then other variable NIL amounts based on your performance stats and using 2021 and forward third-party NIL payments you received to estimate previous lost NIL.

Dayton is the last A-10 team standing, facing Illinois State in the NIT quarters tomorrow. St. Joe's fell to New Mexico in their quarterfinal matchup tonight to put an end to the Hawks' season. The Hawks were up 7 late in the second half and by 2 at the break. Things stayed close early in the second half with the Lobos only up 2 with a little under 14 minutes to go, but they broke it open with a 17–4 run with the Hawks only able to get it back to single digits once briefly after that.

3/24

A-10 (0–1)
- New Mexico 84, St. Joe's 69 (NIT Quarters)

And with that, the A-10’s season comes to an end.

3/25

A-10 (0–1)
- Illinois State 61, Dayton 55 (NIT Quarters)
Thanks for SF for this coverage over the year even when our season was practically over by December. It took a lot of time and dedication. I also nominate you for Spider forum fan of the year along with Section9 who flew to Chicago to watch us lose against an awful Loyola team.

Agree--thank you!

Agree, good stuff. Thanks to SF and Native? and a few others I think that were involved in getting this board up and running. If not for a board guessing many of us would struggle to follow the team and have even less interest. Please at some point provid a way to donate to the board upkeep.
Shout out to Native for fan of year voting too, if my memory is correct he did not attend UT but is a fan by choice.
See Bob and Hardt can find new fans 😀.

Thanks for the nomination 23. Yes, I am not a grad of UR.

Unfortunately, Bob and Hardt can’t take any credit for my fandom though. I first started following the Spiders in the Johnny Newman years when my Dad, who also isn’t a grad, took me to games.

But my oldest daughter is a recent graduate, so I do now have a much closer connection.
