2025–26 opponent tracking

The story of today was Belmont coming back from a 15-point halftime deficit to Murray State that grew to 19 early in the second half, at which point ESPN had Murray State as 97.7% chance to win it. Instead, Belmont scored 63 POINTS in the second half to win going away. Noyes played 17 minutes but only had 5 points.

Oh, and Charlotte and Southern Illinois lost. And Dayton handled Davidson.

So Belmont is just like us vs VCU? /s

Just one OOC impact game today, and it saw ODU take out Louisiana. Exciting stuff.

Non-conference (1–0)
- ODU 83, Louisiana 72

Down go the Billikens! I do think they have some wiggle room at #17 NET and 4–1 in Q1/Q2 games, so this doesn't knock them out of at-large, but they're now vulnerable for the regular-season title with VCU knocking off GW to move just half a game back of SLU and the two teams meeting on Friday night.

In the non-conference schedule, the only D-I game was a double-dipper with Charleston Southern beating hapless Gardner-Webb, while Southern Virginia got back in the win column to help our Q5 strength.

2/17

Non-conference (2–1, 1–1 D-I vs D-I)
- Southern Virginia (D-III) 83, Mary Baldwin (D-III) 71
- Charleston Southern 76, Gardner-Webb 66

A-10
- VCU 89, GW 75
- Rhody 81, SLU 76

One other note, our nemesis Cochran had 11 points, and big FT's down the stretch, but the SLU defenders rendered him useless most of the game. While he had the girth factor over everyone he matched up against, they treated him like a little brother, just were too quick and too strong and knocked the ball away several times. Complete 180 from how we defended him.

So close to the end...can't quit doing these now!

But it's more of the same with our OOC opponents mostly losing. Only Southern Illinois bucked the trend, while ECU put up a fight against Wichita but fell in double OT.
