Yeah, was gonna say...how often does a school have a program play as an affiliate in a conference other than their primary one when the primary one sponsors the sport? Might even typically be a conference membership requirement.

Definitely some shine off the game with it no longer being a 1v2 matchup. Obviously still a huge game and almost certainly our biggest obstacle to getting to the NCAA tournament undefeated.

The Spiders had moved up from 25th to 23rd in the media poll that came out today, while South Florida was sitting just outside receiving votes for the equivalent of 28th.

Spiders hang on for the 15–14 win!

Spiders survive another USF draw control and then convert off a free position at the other end to go up 15–14. Just 2:15 left. Edit: USF wins yet another DC and takes a timeout with 2:05 to play. Edit 2: Spiders get a stop and take a timeout of their own with 1:24 to go.

Spiders pushed the lead to 4, but two quick ones from USF has it back to 14–12 Spiders. 6:30 left to play. Edit: USF wins the ensuing draw and then a bad foul on UR that they were lucky to only get a green card for gives USF a man-up opportunity and they convert. 14–13 with 5:30 to go. Edit 2...

    OT: Coaching Changes

Jacobson's 60% beats Mooney's 55%. Only three losing MVC seasons in his career at UNI. Five NCAAs, would have been a bubble team in COVID year as well after then won the MVC but shockingly got stomped by 8-seed Drake in their Arch Madness opener. Finished mid-pack in the MVC this year but...

Bona lining up to hire Mike MacDonald. From everything I've heard, he's a great guy, but I don't know if he's the right guy. Been in the Buffalo area his entire career. He started as an assistant at Canisius and Beilein kept him on, then he succeeded Beilein and spent nearly a decade as the...

    Portal Work

Yeah, you'd think with them being really the only basketball show in town in a pretty significant market that they would do better than 6,900 per game in that nice arena, especially with the success they had this year. Granted, they were coming close to selling it out near the end of the...

    If I didn’t know better

It's all just from the latest press conference that's on YouTube. But the three things are: - Focusing on the portal, retention may not as important as used to think - Potentially playing two bigs at once - Easing into summer and fall practices so guys are fresh at the start of the games and...

Your Richmond Spiders are now officially #1 in the country. We got 21 of 22 first-place votes, with the other one going to UNC after their big win over Harvard yesterday. And the Spiders top them in point totals, 439–414. ND is at #4...

    OT: Coaching Changes

Tennessee assistant and former Wolfpack player Justin Gainey heading back to Raleigh. And not a coaching change, but Jon Perry gets a long-term extension at Navy after rolling to the Patriot regular-season title in his first year before stumbling in the tourney to come up short for an NCAA bid.

    Nathan Cayo in the pros

Cayo's injury replacement contract in France is up and they wanted to extend him, but he declined so he can return home and not miss the upcoming birth of his second child. Training camp for the CEBL season kicks off in about a month anyway, ahead of an early May start for regular-season games.
