Richmond goes to the playoffs

If Richmond wins out, we go to the playoffs. I say this because Maine has URI and @ UNH left. If Maine does beat both and finishes 8-4 with an 8 game win streak and 7-1 CAA record. W&M beat Maine and is making noise. Our end of season schedule is an opportunity for us. If we win out, we are 8-4 and we may be in.

It’s been a very long season and very difficult at times. If you were AI they’d call this scenario a hallucination! Take a few days off to rest and regroup in time for Lafayette. 😂

The biggest question this week, as it has been all season, is whether the coaches can make the right calls at the right times. Does anyone know who will be the Spider's starting QB?
Coach Huesman usually answers the QB question in his weekly local media sessions on Wednesday. It looks to me like we’ll need to score often to beat the Leopards. Snelsire seems to give us the best chance to score.

Go Spiders!

That would be the first of several "right calls" that Coach Huesman has to make. Although, I suspect he goes with Wickersham, out of loyalty and because it's Senior day. Coach Huesman will also have to make the right calls on the field, including adding more pass plays into the game plan.

I’m guessing Vegas odds of this are somewhere between slim and none.

The playoff is the W&M game. This week hopefully is the let’s show them we can score week as the Spiders are going to need to exceed the FCS season scoring average (24 pts) to win. The starting QB is the critical call no doubt.

Against Lafayette we are going to need to have a running attack that goes 150 yards on the ground or better
to eat up some clock time. GT had a lot of ball control and we got lucky . Lafayette looks to be most balanced
attack we will face. Defense will have to have some TOs and do a better job of limiting long gainers.

Who starts I have no idea, but as far as Senior Day goes.

Wickersham might have another year. He should get a medical for the year he only played 3 games.
Snelsire I believe has one more year.

I am guessing, but both might have a degree by May, so who knows what they decide they want to do, if I am even right that each could come back.

I think you have it right. Whether, or not, KW has another year depends on 2024 his three game season. Can you have a conventional redshirt (2021) and an injury redshirt (2024)?

Snelsire is more straight forward...he got the conventional redshirt in 2022 making 2025 his third season of action...

Looking at the roster it looks like we've got 14 players listed as Seniors who started in the program in 2022 who if on track academically to graduate will have to make a decision on whether, or not, to return. Snelsire is one of these players.

Go Spiders!

Russ certainly has proven he has a pro Wick bias regardless of who else was / is available be it Coleman / Snelsire. Performance and results would dictate that both seem more effective than Wick. Based upon last week vs GT, Snelsire should get a start. As far as next year is concerned, Russ will probably put it up for grabs then anoint Wick.

Lafayette looked extremely fast on their highlights, so limiting big plays will be hard to do. 🤞

This season has been frustrating for many reasons. Inconsistent play on both sides of the ball and suspect play calling being the main culprits. That being said, this team has the talent to play with anyone if we get solid QB play. Our offensive schemes have been very predictable and times just too vanilla. Kyle is a proven accurate passer and looks great when his first read is open. The problem comes in when that first option is taken away and a quick decision must be made or a throw made in a tight window. Snelshire seems to throw receivers open and take chances like he did on the game winning pass to King at Georgetown. For this reason, I hope he gets the start.

I think NCAA has to approve medical RS but not sure. Season ending is a factor and he stayed #3 on depth chart the remainder of the year and did not appear again. I thought then he might be going for an extra med year but was just guessing.

Will not matter if he graduates and decides to hang it up, so just fan jabber on my part right now.
Sean Clarke the TE is surely eligible for a medical I would think as well for this year and could have two more years I believe.
