Figured it would be good to separate the offers we're making from the departing guys...

First one I've spotted is WR Owen Sweeney out of VMI and a Roanoke native. Appeared in three games as a true frosh in 2024 before getting injured, then put up 723 yards and 8 TDs this season, so he has three years remaining. Was named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List at midseason for top frosh FCS performers nationally and finished the season being named to the Freshman All-America list by FCS Football Central.

Has also been offered by Towson, Stony Brook, Southern Illinois, and Austin Peay today.

Calgaro has played two seasons, so he has two remaining. He was an FCS Football Central Freshman All-American in 2024, and was named All-NEC First Team this year. Has also been offered by Towson, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, Wagner, Duquesne, Robert Morris, and Central Connecticut so far today.

Gonna be hard to beat out CUSA/Sun Belt programs for Sweeney...he's visiting Marshall tomorrow and Middle Tennessee on Mon/Tues.
 
My guess is he sits out this year and plays next year if he is good enough. If he came to Richmond and played as a Freshman and proved he is good enough to get to a higher level than Marshall, he would have moved up a year earlier. Don’t believe he got much money out of high school!🕷️🕸️
 
Previously announced visits to Mercer today/tomorrow and Austin Peay on Fri/Sat. Claims to have "possibility" of two years of eligibility, but he's played three seasons for the Hornets, including 7 appearances as a true frosh.
