Is there a pention we can sign as fans to get attention that we want a coaching change?Just thinking of all the ways we could show support as fans to get Mooney fired. I don't think a billboard is a classy move, but at this point no one should donate a dime to this program.
If we have to wait that long there will be no fans left. My family has had season tickets for 22 years and this is the first time we are thinking about not renewing them.
That right there is why Mooney needs to go. You want as many talented players on your team and it's the coaches job to figure out how to make them all work together. Something that Mooney is awful at and gets bailed out when he has a great PG like Gilly or Kevin Anderson because they are running...
Was not Dji, but I could see why you would think that. Real shame we only got one good year out of Dji he should have been making contributions for 3 years
Love how the team social is posting a story about Mike Walz being good at golf. We're in the middle of a horrible season the program has no future and were doing a piece on golf. Beyond frustrating to see this kind of crap!
That makes sense, but we need the University to be willing to give significant money to the NIL fund. However I feel like all the school cares about is trying to be a small ivy school.
Over the weekend I was talking with a friend from college that happens to know a former recent Richmond player who I wont name that said some interesting things that I was not expecting.
1. A lot of the players are starting to get frustrated with Mooney and feel like his system and game...
We just have no good defenders on this team. Only player who plays great defense is AA. DT is decent and AP makes some plays. Tyne is alright but gets bullied some from his size. Harper has show promise but this is only the second game he has seen significant time.
Will Harper should be playing 15 + min a game now. Has a lot of potential being 6’5 guard that appears to to be athletic and has a good shot on him. Are only hope is that him and aa turn into all A-10 guards and stay all four years which is rare these days. Maybe then that will give us two years...
It's just sad to see what has happened to Richmond basketball. I remember being a young kid watching them go to a sweet sixteen. Watching that team go on that run made me fall in love with basketball. I just can't even imagine a Mooney team now every being close to that level of that team.
